Skip Skydiving: Fly From Heathrow

August 10, 2007 at 9:30 AM | 0 Comments

We're pretty sure nobody would say that getting in and out of airport is a relaxing experience these days, but a recent survey at London Heathrow shows that it's even worse than you'd expect.

A sample of ordinary passengers were fitted with heart rate and blood pressure monitors and the results showed extraordinarily high levels of stress during the departure process from Heathrow. Some passengers had heart rates four times higher than average, and doctors explained that the physiological stress levels were higher than F1 drivers or skydivers experience.

Perhaps it puts new meaning to the idea that it's the journey and not the destination that counts in travel. If you want some heart-pumping action, just go and stand in line at the airport.

De-stress at U.S. Airports

November 23, 2005 at 3:37 PM | 0 Comments

The folks at Lather let us know about a promotion they are organizing today in an attempt put stressed out travelers at ease:

LATHER will literally be "on-hand" to help Delta passengers de-stress during the busiest travel day of the year. We will have a team of massage therapists in Delta's Crown Room Clubs at LGA, LAX, and Atlanta offering chair massages and complimentary product samples of our AHA Hand Crème, Lavender and Eucalyptus Foot Crème, and Ultra Light Facial Lotion.

The offering will take place at LaGuardia, LAX, and Atlanta airports today, for obvious reasons.  Just breathe.
