New Year, New Razor?

January 2, 2009 at 2:05 PM | by pbb | 0 Comments

George Clooney's Mustache, it seems, wasn't invited along on a New Year's trip to Cabo, where Clooney himself met up with Cindy Crawford, her husband Rande Gerber and, somehow, Kid Rock. Lest our facial hair fanaticism be squelched, the pugnacious hick-hopper had his ratty 'stache in full effect. (Somehow, Kid Rock's look just isn't the same Clooney's.)

Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox were also in Cabo for the New Year, alongside David Arquette, who packed his own mustache. We're still waiting to see if the freshly shaven Clooney will keep his face fuzz-free in 2009--or if he was just trying to avoid looking like C-listers on New Year's Eve.

The Soup Strainer Jets To St. Louis

December 24, 2008 at 11:01 AM | by pbb | 0 Comments

George Clooney has booked Lambert-St. Louis International for his latest project, "Up in the Air," now that filming has wrapped on "Men Who Stare at Goats." The former home of TWA, the airport's now probably best known for its haunting ghost terminal.

While production crews are still figuring out where exactly they'll shoot inside STL, Clooney says the whole city could star in the movie, the story of a corporate downsizer on a mission to bank 1 million frequent flier miles. Jason Reitman of "Juno" fame is directing.

While the city is thrilled to have the production coming to town, Lambert's hosted movie stars before: Matt Damon visited the airport in May for work on Steven Soderbergh's newest, "The Informant."

There's No George Clooney Here, But...

December 19, 2008 at 2:30 PM | by egw | 0 Comments

SIGH. This week marked the last day of shooting for "Men Who Stare At Goats," George Clooney's forthcoming CIA thriller costarring Kevin Spacey and George Clooney's mustache. It must feel as deflating to the state of New Mexico as a Bill Richardson's failed presidential bid or every time someone confuses it with the old country to the south.

Well, we found at least three good reasons to visit Albuquerque, the last set used for "Men Who Stare At Goats," and they have nothing to do with the above-named bachelor:

No More Goats

December 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM | by cmb | 0 Comments

Today, we're so sorry to report, is the last day of principal shooting for “Men Who Stare at Goats.” The movie will be filming at SunCal Dunes in Albuquerque, a 55,000-acre tract of land with spectacular views of the cityscape that may soon become a massive housing development. We don’t which is the bigger shame: Transforming a tranquil landscape into suburbia or watching another George Clooney movie wrap.

In Wisconsin, Eric Roberts, most recently seen on “Heroes,” has started in on the indie flick, “Project Solitude." They'll be filming around Flintville today, a small town located in the metro Green Bay area. This isn’t the first movie to come through these parts this year: Johnny Depp was in Wisconsin for more than two months in the spring filming “Public Enemies.”

George Gets Heated at White Sands

December 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM | by cmb | 2 Comments

Today, "Men Who Stare at Goats" is filming around White Sands National Monument, just outside of Alamogordo, New Mexico. White Sands is the largest gypsum sand dune field in the world, though the dunes look more like snow-covered hills than something out of a spaghetti western. You can actually rent a saucer at the visitor's center to try sliding down the dunes ski slope-style.

The park is also surrounded by the White Sands Missile Range--which may be the exact location of today's shoot--an area that's been used in several movies, including "Transformers." It's still active, and occasional road closures around the entire complex can happen when experimental weapons are being tested.

Saturday, "Middle Men," starring Luke Wilson, will be filming on Westchester Parkway in Los Angeles just outside of LAX. If Luke has to film inside the airport, his celebrity status won't get him any special treatment: According to the Daily News, the Los Angeles City Council decided this week against regulations that would control paparazzi at LAX and give priority treatment to celebs.

If you have any tips about where movies or TV shows are filming, send them our way at tips@jaunted.com.

Feted At Charity Ball

Where: Berlin, Germany
December 10, 2008 at 9:20 AM | by egw | 0 Comments

George Clooney's mustache popped up this weekend in Berlin at the Ein Herz fuer Kinder gala, where its owner received the Golden Heart award for his work with the Not On Our Watch charity. No shaving before a black-tie event -- really?

It seems like these mustaches are popping up everywhere these days, from Clooney himself on his New Mexico movie set to Brad Pitt sporting one at the premiere of his new movie "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button." Let's face it, we may have a pandemic on our hands.

Start Booking Your Flights, Ladies, Clooney's In New Mexico

December 4, 2008 at 9:45 AM | by cmb | 1 Comment

First up today, "Ugly Betty" is filming at Madison Square Park, home of coolest dog run in NYC, the city's first public pay toilet, tree houses and a mind-bogglingly popular burger stand.

We've also heard reports that "Men Who Stare At Goats", starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor, is filming at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque today. We could go on and on about the campus and how it's situated on Route 66 but we doubt anyone really cares about that under the circumstances. We have a feeling that cubicles across the country are already being deserted and flights to New Mexico are already selling out. We understand, Godspeed to you all.

If you have any tips about where movies or TV shows are filming, send them our way at tips@jaunted.com.

Joined By George Clooney's Shaggy Haircut On The Basketball Court

Call your lawyer, John Krasinski! George Clooney sported a shaggy moptop as he played a pickup game in Roswell, New Mexico yesterday.

Clooney followed the production of his new movie "Men Who Stare At Goats" from Mexico to New Mexico, where the desert will double as Iraq. Locals can look forward to Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges and Ewan McGregor coming through town for their roles in the movie, which is about the US Army's attempts to develop psychological warfare techniques.

Clooney directed and co-stared with Krasinski in the period football comedy "Leatherheads." Female fans might disapprove, but don't worry! It's just a wig.
