No plans for a Friday night in New York City? Have we got a recommendation for you.
2013 marks the 5th annual outdoor summer movie series at the USS Intrepid, where films are screened right on the open deck of the aircraft carrier for FREE. Basic admission to the Intrepid typically costs $24, and at least with the free screening you'll have the privilege of walking around the flight deck for nothing out-of-pocket.
This season sees six films on the docket, all with a central hero figure. Yes, you can chillax with a sub sandwich on the flight deck of the ship, right next to a slew of military fighter jets and helicopters, while watching Maverick pull aerial stunts in "Top Gun."
The 2013 screening schedule:

Hanging out in Amsterdam
A 6+ hour layover sure sounds like guaranteed misery, right? Wrong, if you're between flights at one of the several international airports that offer city tours for passengers in transit.
Some airports provide these tours absolutely free as a way to promote tourism, but all require that you clear immigration and customs in order to take them.
So before you settle down for a 10-hour boredfest on a bench near an airport Sbarro, try out one of the transit tours at these six airports:

Leonardo DiCaprio might have said best when he compared going to Cannes to entering the helicopter scene in La Dolce Vita. "It's an insane experience," he explained. "The entire town is turned into a red carpet. Every hotel is a premiere. But at the same time, it is the mecca for the world to celebrate filmmaking and bold filmmaking."

Free WiFI, snacks, drinks, nice restrooms (and maybe showers!), a comfy place to sit, power outletsairline lounges are as near to haven as a traveler can get in an airport. Too bad entry to them is reserved for an airline's most loyal or highest spending flyers...unless you're in possession of a coveted day pass.
Right now, however, American Airlines is welcoming anyone into their Admirals Club lounges with a free day pass, provided you have enough Klout.
You see, AA wants to hear what even those in Economy have to say about the Admirals Clubs, and naturally they also want to hear it on social media. A one-day pass is typically $50, but they'll hand it over for free if you've got a Klout score of 55 or higher. That pass will then grant you access to one of the 37 worldwide Admirals Clubs (we suggest the one at London-Heathrow).
One winner of all will also be chosen for a one year membership to the Admirals Club. Nice!

On May 24, Delta debuts the massive extension of Terminal 4 at New York-JFK International Airport to travelers. No need to wait that long to peek at brand-spanking-new space and its staggeringly massive 24,000-square-foot SkyClub (with first ever SkyDeck!), however; last night the airline opened a pop-up space in Soho to show off ahead of time.
The spotcalled "Delta T4 Xperience," or "T4X" for shortwill be open to the public Tuesday thru Sunday from 11am to 3pm, from now until May 22. The first level boasts exhibits to virtually "tour" the new terminal, plus a vending machine churning out Delta-branded freebies (a mirror, luggage tag, passport holder or cold drink cup). Head up to the second story for some Nespresso caffeination and a preview of the highly anticipated SkyDeck.
Now, for the really good part:

It's that time again. Austin's permanent residents are gearing up to welcome the influx of out-of-towners for this year's South by Southwest Festival (SXSW).
"You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas." - Davy Crockett
This year you'll be just as likely to see Skrillex eating some Stubb's BBQ as you are a talk entitled "Learn How to Stop Letting Your Desk Job Make You Fat, Sick & Dead." SXSW has clearly evolved from what was once just a week-long event where bands from all over the world try to get signed to a record deal.
We understand traveling is not cheap, trust us. That's why when there is some sort of deal we like to share the love with our readers. This one comes from a land far off, but we have to say it's worth the trip. The not-so-little airport in the not-so-little country of Singapore has made it easier to get a few more stamps in your passport and see the world with the Changi Travel Program.
This program is intended to make it more appealing to transit through the mega-hub airport. Launched late last year, it means the airport will provide a little cash for you to explore the airport and fill your belly or just relax with a bubble-tea in one of those massage chairs. For travelers transiting through the airport on Singapore Airlines or Silk Air, you can acquire $20 Changi Dollar Vouchers good for airport concessions.

Three quick questions for you: are you on Instagram? Do you like drinking tea? How about an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Kenya?
Liptonyes, the iced tea companyis looking for one outstanding Instagrammer to head over to Africa to visit the Lipton Rainforest Alliance certified tea estates in person. Yes, kinda like how Olive Garden has a real cooking school in Italy and how Sutter Home wine is a real Napa vineyard, Lipton's teas are truly made from leaves ethically harvested in Kenya and they're pretty proud of the fact.
You have until March 2 to submit to this "Liptagram Challenge," and there will be weekly prizes for photos, but it's that Grand Prize of the Kenya trip you should set your eyes onhow often does a Kenya trip come up as a prize!?

We love a good, easy Instagram contest where the prize will have you traveling thousands of miles away for the effort of posting a single photo. This is why you've just go to enter Cathay Pacific's "Snap & Share Your Wishes" contest to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The concept is simple: just post an Instagram (with the proper hashtags noted below) and well wishes for Chinese New Year 2013. There'll be winners for Cathay goodies every week, but a single Grand Prize will bring the lucky Instagrammer a pair of roundtrip tickets to Hong Kong for the 2014 Chinese New Year festivities, including passes to the official Cathay Pacific International Night Parade.
Here's how to enter:
Once again it’s time to put on your thinking cap, as there’s another travel contest with your name all over it. This time Norway is looking for a few more visitors, and they’re giving away a big trip to get travelers excited for Scandinavian shenanigans.
Their latest travel campaign is all about screaming, as they’re trying to show off that’s in no surprise that Edvard Munch and his work The Scream is from Norway. After all there are just so many sights, experiences, and adventures that will make you scream, shout, and celebrate.
JetBlue will give away more Vermont Teddy Bears and free flights tomorrow when it launches its own version of the Amazing Race in New York City.
Tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, JetBlue will provide clues via Twitter (@jetblue) on the hour every hour that represent the 10 most romantic locations in the city, including places in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Each spot will be marked with a four-and-half foot tall Big Hunka Love Bear from Vermont Teddy Bear (trust us, you can't miss it). The first person to show up at each location and correctly use the secret code word that’s Tweeted along with the clue will win the bear and two roundtrip flights to any JetBlue destination.
So, in theory, you could have up to ten roundtrip tickets for two in your hand by the end of the day tomorrow if you're really good, although having the locations spread out across the city pretty much prevents that. Still, snagging even one pair of tickets would make one hell of a gift for your Valentine (or instantly make you one of the more eligible bachelors/bachelorettes in the city). You can feel good about your fortune as well: Each winner will also receive a pair of roundtrip tickets to donate to a charity of their choice.

We’re pretty sure that when it comes to cities and their residents Southwest Airlines doesn’t want to play favorites, but that might not be the case when it comes to Denver. After all the city is the proud of home of the airline’s skating rink—Southwest Rink at Skyline Park—and now it looks like the airline is getting ready to shower the city with even more
First and foremost you’ve only got a couple more weeks if you’re looking to take a spin out on the rink. Winter isn’t coming to an end anytime soon—but the skating rink is—as the ice is no longer an option starting around Valentine’s Day. However, there’s still much to celebrate as the rink prepares for its final days in the Mile High City.
