We realize travel budgets may be limited, but it’s free to dream. This is where contests come into the picture, as there’s alway these current contests:
Enter between now and April 30th each and every day, as United Airlines is giving away some airfare over to Belize as part of the My Coke Rewards program. Apparently if Belize isn't your preferred destinations things can be changed, as options across the United States and Central America are also open to the winners. It's all part of Earth Day celebrations, as they want you to learn all about United and their commitment to the environment. The link above will fill you in on the rules and regulations, and you'll be one-step closer to scoring something with an a approximate retail value of $1,050.

We consider ourselves pretty darn familiar with things related to travel loyalty programs. From airlines to rental cars we know most of the ins and outs about points, miles, and free credits. However, we do need to hit the books and study up on one of the latest options, as airports getting in on the loyalty scene is certainly new to us.
It’s the airport awesomeness that is Singapore’s Changi Airport that is changing up their Changi Rewards Program. Membership is free, and you’ll earn points for every dollar you spend.
Like most other loyalty programs, the folks at Changi have set up three levels: member, gold, platinum. Travelers can reach gold status by spending $4,000 within the year, and it’s a platinum card if you throw down over $8,000 (which can be easily done if you're in the market for duty-free luxury goods). The program offers up coupons and what not during the year, and the deals and discounts get better as you climb the loyalty ladder.
2014 has thus far been quite the year for Delta, what with the detrimental changes to their SkyMiles frequent flyer program and an emergency landing or two, but this week has been something of a bounce back with a slew of positive news. Among the good news is the announcement that Delta is ready to give something to and not take something from economy class travelers.
Introducing Delta's sleep kits, specifically for the comfort of economy on long-haul international flights. Everyone gets an individual pack containing eyeshades and earplugs. It's very similar to JetBlue's Snooze Packs, which are handed out on red-eye transcontinental flights.

Coming this April to United aircraft: live streaming movies and TV shows directly to your Apple device. The scoop comes from Patently Apple. As with any major United announcement lately, however, there is both good and bad news.
The good: the new entertainment system will initially roll out onboard the airline's Airbus A319, Airbus A320, Boeing 747-400 and select 777-200 fleet, to offer passengers 150 movies and 200 TV shows for free.
The bad: It will only be accessible on Apple iPhones and iPads running iOS 7 with the United app, and on MacBooks (without the need to download an app). No word on if Android gadgets will eventually enjoy the same.
As Ellen DeGeneres pointed out during last night's ceremony, Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar so many times (18 to be exact), that it's probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars for her to attend. Even when she loses, however, she can make most of that money back in the form a super swanky gift bag.
This year all of the nominees will receive a $85,000 swag bag filled with 50 gifts worth anywhere from $6.50 to $16,000 in the "'Everyone Wins at the Oscars' Nominee Gift Bag."

Here is the complete list, starting with the next to occur, just FYI:
• St Patty’s Day (3/17)
• Mother’s Day (5/11)
• Memorial Day (5/26)
• Father’s Day (6/15)
• SWA Birthday (6/18)
• Independence Day (7/4)
• Chase Customer Appreciation Day (8/11)
• Halloween (10/31)
• Thanksgiving Day (11/27)
You’ve been missing out if you haven’t tried Sriracha yet. The chili-paste-meets-hot-sauce concoction is now used on anything and everything, and even Subway has commercials advertising the stuff slathered all over their five-dollar footlongs. Now those needing even more of a fix are welcome to do so, as the Willy Wonka of the Sriracha industry has opened up the factory for public tours.
Huy Fong Foods is the company behind the magic, and now free tours are available in Irwindale, California in and around their 650,000-square-foot factory.
It may be the boring bit of January right now, between the fun holidays and the meh ones, but International No Pants Subway Ride Day was this past weekend, but there are more than a few dates of whimsical excitement to add to your calendar for 2014:
International Pillow Fight Day: Saturday, April 5
Hundreds of people lob pillows at each other, all for fun, and the cops are aware and present at this (at least in New York City), so no putting "extras" in your pillowcase. Take a look at the details from 2013 to get an idea of what cities are participating, and where exactly the action will go down in those cities.
It’s a new year and that means an entire set of new freebies when it comes to visiting national parks in and around the United States. Uncle Sam is once again throwing open the gates on certain days during 2014, so now’s the time to start planning on when to skip out of work.
The government usually just doesn’t give stuff away, so when they do it’s a good idea to take advantage of it. This year there are nine days in which you can leave the admission fee back at your house, and the very first of them is just about a week away. Things start on January 20, as Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the first free one of the year.
It's that time of the year again, the time when the year just plain ends. Alas, we can't just let 2013 go that easily, especially since travelers spent it both up in the air and up in arms over a crazy range of topics. Needless to say, we're ready to get going into 2014, but first we're taking a brief look back at the best of 2013 with the Jaunted Travel Awards,or as we fondly refer to themThe Jauntys.
It's tough to like an airport these days, let alone love one, but Singapore's Changi International Airport just kills it on so many levels that we have to hand the award for "best travel promo of 2013" to the marketing brains at SIN. This was the year they went above and beyond, attracting tourists book travel through their airport with the lure of free money.

If you're taking to the skies any time in the next few days, there's a good chance that you can while away the hours with your laptop or mobile device. Thanks to the folks over at Gogo and Charmin (yeah, the toilet paper people), flyers can access Facebook for free during the busy holiday travel season.
Starting today and running through December 30th on seven airlines, Charmin will open the social media browsing session for free. "Like" friend's updates, post photos of their in-flight snack, and check out their 2013 year-in-review status update. Just be cautious because, if you start clicking on external links, you will be asked for your credit card details to fork over some cash for full access.

You know we’re all about celebrating, and that’s especially the case when we can do so with a little bit of travel. That’s why we’re fully in favor of airBaltic and their latest maneuver. The carrier just got all excited over a certain number of followers on Facebook—100,000 of them—but it’s what they did to honor the occasion that makes it interesting.
Typically the airline specializes in using actually airplanes to go flying, but this event required something a little more modern. Unmanned drones actually delivered free tickets right to their Facebook fans and, seeing how the airline is the most popular Baltic brand on Facebook, that meant more than a few special ticket-drops.
