Find Places to Pump Iron near the Airport with AirportGyms.com
If you're the jetsetting type who spends a lot of time in airports, you needn't totally sacrifice your regimen of GTL—Jersey Shore-speak for gym, tanning and laundry—during your travels. While you're on your own for the tanning and laundry components, a website can help with the gyms part.
Airport Gyms offers a free listing of fitness centers either in or near major U.S. and some Canadian airports. The database, searchable by state, lists the gym's name, its proximity to the airport, the cost, hours, special offerings and a phone number.

The 'SPIbelt' Thinks It's the Answer to Your Fanny Pack Fears

For the second time in as many months, we're confronted with a piece of eccentric travel gear that we unexpectedly don't hate. At first blush the fitness-oriented SPIbelt - the "original small personal item belt" - straightforwardly violates Jaunted's Don't Be A Tool rule of travel wardrobe decision-making, originally formulated because these things and these things exist. It looks like a shiny fanny pack made out of nylon, and neither the look nor the material nor the look of the material particularly appeal to us. And yet there's something undeniably useful about the concept.
The SPIbelt is just a highly stretchable pouch attached to an adjustable belt, click closed and held in place by a plastic buckle. Ideally it would be used as a running belt, holding your ID card and keys while you're going through your morning fitness routine. The travel angle comes in because it can also be loaded for a day trip. Fill it with a phone, one of those pocket maps, a passport, and a wad of cash - and it should still be able to handle everything.

Watch The Derby Dolls, Then Take the Work-Out Class

Admit it. Nothing gets you more pumped up than seeing a bunch of chicks on skates pummel the crap out of each other. Get your fix by taking in an all-girl roller derby match at the "Doll Factory" rink on Saturday, February 28th. One of L.A.’s best teams of Derby Dolls, the Varsity Brawlers, will be taking on the San Diego chapter, ominously known as The Swarm. The “bout,” as it’s called, will start at 7:45pm, but get there when the doors open at six so you can get a front-row seat to the blood-spilling, bone-crunching action.

Walk, Don’t Ride, London's Underground
You might think that the London underground train system--also called the tube--is a convenient and fast way to get around the city. But in fact, it's making you fat.
What you really need to know is how many calories you can burn by walking between stations instead. So an insurance company has released a map of the subway that shows how many steps there are between each station.
That means next time you want to get from a shopping expedition at Harrods (Knightsbridge station) to meet a friend at oft-photographed Piccadilly Circus, this nifty map can tell you it'll take just 2,989 steps. That's 90 calories burned, and your tube fare saved. See, we’re lookin' out for your health.

John Mayer Taking Self-Defense Classes: We Worry
Your body is a roundhouse punch: John Mayer puts up the dukes with a trainer at Rich Barretta Private Training, a Krav Maga studio in New York City yesterday.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art focused on hand-to-hand combat and self-defense in real life (as opposed to in-studio) situations.
Hilary Swank is a fan and Matt Damon studied it to prepare for his role as Jason Bourne--the practice emphasizes using all available objects to disarm your opponent, something which Bourne has clearly mastered.
