No Kangaroos and No Movies Either
February 5, 2007 at 10:15 AM | 2 Comments

We used to think traveling Qantas was quite a pleasure. But on some of the Aussie airline's B747-400s, apparently it's become a bit of a nightmare. There's a kind of game of "bad seat Lotto" playing out: if you're a loser, you get a seat with a non-functioning inflight entertainment system.
Yeah, yeah, you might say, so read a book. But remember that a Qantas international flight could easily be 12 or 14 hours long. That's when movies and mind-numbing computer games are really needed to fill the time.
Apart from the obvious complaints from passengers, Qantas staff are also extremely uptight after passengers have become aggressive when they've got nothing to keep them occupied. And sometimes the system goes down for the entire plane, leaving a tin can full of grumpy, bored travelers hurtling through the air. What happened to the days where everyone could turn to a neighbor and play tic-tac-toe?

Jaunted Blowback: Delta's Illiteracy Problem
September 26, 2006 at 9:35 AM | 0 Comments

Delta's new in-flight entertainment system is not pleasing everyone. Sure, they've caught up with JetBlue by offering in-flight TV and pay-per-view movies on longer-haul domestic flights--it's like they've leapfrogged into the 90s! Unfortunately, not all passengers can enjoy the entertainment system. After the jump, read a letter Jaunted received from one passenger who points out that the lack of closed captioning on Delta's system means deaf passengers are only getting half the experience as the rest of the people on-board.
