It's the return of Dunkin' Donuts Alternatives!
We were recommended to this doughnut shop on a recent visit to the Windy City after we somehow missed the Doughnut Vault doughnut truck on the streets in the West Loop.
This Glazed & Infused location is just two blocks from The Riverwalk, making it oh-so-convenient to pick up "a whole lotta muscle" like an old-fashion doughnut or a hot chocolate snowball or a cranberry orange glazed (ranging from $2-$3) and drip coffee or a latte to take with you on your stroll (bonus: they have almond milk for your coffee. #wearelameweknow).
While this doughnut shop is located inside the Davanti Enoteca restaurant, Glazed & Infused also has doughnut window, which, let's face it, makes everything better. (It does have restricted hours though.)
Right now, Glazed and Infused has five locations in Chicago but they are at work on a sixth one for The Loop. So "Have you been glazed" yet? Also, Doughnut Vault, we are coming for you. Someday.
If you want proof that the cupcake craze in Chicago is over, head to 401 1/2 N. Franklin, where you'll see a line snake around the block. The patient foodies are waiting for hot, fresh doughnuts from the newly opened Doughnut Vault.
In fact, those hungry patrons stay in line for up to two hours in hopes of scoring some doughnuts. To make it even worse, there's no set time the place opens, you are limited to purchasing only six doughnuts—which go for a pricey $2 to $3 apiece—and the shop closes when it runs out of goodies and people on line are left doughnutless.
