College Football Travel: In the Swamp with the Florida Gators

The college football season is in full swing, so where are the best road-trip worthy stadiums? We've got the teams, the games and the shenanigans covered on our College Football Travel map.
In 2006, the Florida Gators thumped OSU to become national champions. And despite losing a number of starters before this season, the Gators have a real possibility of going the distance again. In only three games this season, they've posted 167 points.
Under current head coach Urban Meyer, the Gators haven't lost at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainsville, a trend that should continue this year. But Florida's biggest game isn't at home this year: It's in Jacksonville on October 27 when they play the Georgia Bulldogs.

College Football Travel: By the Bayou with the LSU Tigers
The college football season is in full swing, so where are the best road-trip worthy stadiums? We've got the teams, the games and the shenanigans covered on our College Football Travel map.
After last year's win at the Sugar Bowl--the first held in the post-Katrina Superdome--LSU is looking to make it another big season. The Tigers are ranked number 2 in the nation, thanks to an incredibly stingy defense anchored by tackle Glen Dorsey. With plenty of offensive weapons, too, LSU could win a National Championship this year--if it can beat some tough conference opponents.
LSU plays in Baton Rouge's 92,400-seat Tiger Stadium, a venue that once got so loud the campus seismograph registered the noise as an earthquake. Also known as Death Valley, the stadium hosts legendary night games, like one coming up against conference foe Florida on October 6.

College Football Travel: The OSU Buckeyes Love Tailgating
The college football season is in full swing, so where are the best road-trip worthy stadiums? We've got the teams, the games and the shenanigans covered on our College Football Travel map.
After falling to the Florida Gators in the National Championship Game last year, the Ohio State University Buckeyes are out to win it this season. Last week's shaky start against Washington didn't inspire confidence, but the scoreboard is what counts, and OSU is now 3-0 heading in to conference play. Saturday, the Buckeyes host Northwestern at Ohio Stadium in Columbus.
But the two biggest games of the year will be the last ones: OSU plays Illinois in November for the Illibuck trophy, and then will head to Michigan to face their arch-rivals, the Wolverines. Before that, though, you have a few more chances to catch OSU at home.

College Football Travel: Hookin' Up with the Texas Longhorns
The college football season is in full swing, so where are the best road-trip worthy stadiums? We've got the teams, the games and the shenanigans covered on our College Football Travel map.
The Texas Longhorns and their 21-year-old quarterback Colt McCoy are off to an impressive start this year, and undoubtedly have their sights set on a national championship after last year's hit-and-miss season. The Longhorns have yet to face any conference opponents, but have been looking good so far on their home field, Austin's Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Texas will host both Nebraska and Texas Tech later this year, but the 'Horns biggest game will be played in Dallas: The Red River Rivalry against arch rivals Oklahoma.

College Football Travel: Tailgating with the USC Trojans
The college football season is in full swing, so where are the best road-trip worthy stadiums? We've got the teams, the games and the shenanigans covered on our College Football Travel map.
After missing the national championship game last year, USC is back on top of the college football pile, keeping the Trojan faithful pouring in to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. And after last Saturday, fans will be in even more of a frenzy after USC's perfect day: a win for the team and losses for rivals Notre Dame and UCLA.
Home games coming up against a rash of unranked conference opponents will warm fans up for the season finale against UCLA on December 1.
