We May Never Again Be Graced With 'Hooters Air'
Back in the day (meaning a few years ago), Pace Airlines was the charter company behind the brand Hooters Air. Despite America’s love for short shorts, the scantily clad airline folded and Pace went back to what it did best—chartering flights for rich people and sports teams. However, things aren’t going as well as they once were, and now Pace Airlines is in some hot water.
The airline has been struggling as it’s been losing contracts, and it doesn’t help that the CEO is facing a felony charge because apparently he wasn’t making payments to his employee’s group health insurance. As of last week, coverage for over 300 workers was dropped, because that’s what happens when you don’t pay the bills. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is now after the airline as they’ve filed a lawsuit against Pace on behalf of a flight attendant who is claiming discrimination in the airline’s promotion practices. When it's not one thing it's another.

Name That Airline: Air Azul Changes Everything Before It Even Takes Off
Not too long ago Air Azul jumped onto the scene promising flights from Toledo to Newark. Well before they even had a chance to kick the tires and light the fires, the airline is taking a little break. Instead of starting flights in June, flights are pushed back until at least July.
Originally, their services were going to be offered thanks to a little help from the charter company Sun Country Airlines. However, Sun Country recently sent a letter to all passengers that had booked on Air Azul to let them know that they’d have to rebook as they were no longer affiliated with Air Azul. Thankfully we were still on the fence, and didn’t book that bike trip across Ohio yet.

A Different Azul Goes To Toledo, Not Brazil

Usually when we are chatting about Azul we’re talking about an airline south of the equator. However, there’s a new guy in town, and he’s showing some love for the Azul name—unfortunately his new destinations are a little less interesting.
Air Azul is looking to fly from Toledo, Ohio to Newark thrice a week. Don’t expect in flight television here, but they will be offering some cheap flights aboard their 737-800s. Promotional tickets will start at $49 each way, but we can only assume this starting price will be supplemented with add-ons—like a first bag fee of $10.

Pregnancy Travel: Angelina Jolie Breaks All the Rules
While rumors swirl that soccer parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are plotting a summer wedding, Jolie, and her obvious baby bump, were busy boarding a private plane in Smithville, Texas yesterday. From the photos she actually looks to be thinking about piloting the plane herself. She does have her pilots license right?
It is doubtful she actually flew this tiny plane, but looking at the photos there is little doubt she flew in it. We all know flying while pregnant can be totally fine, but there are some precautions those preggos who are not certified Super World Travelers might want to take:
Talk with your midwife/doctor/practitioner. If you are past the 36-week mark, the airlines have the right to turn you away, though you can always fly charter.
Try to do most of your travel in the second trimester--for the sake of your own comfort.
Avoid excessive flying.
Book seats with more leg room.
Avoid travel to countries that would require immunization.
These are not hard and fast rules, just suggestions, or, if you are a Super World Traveler, do whatever you damn well please. What's in Smithville anyway? The UFOs, she should know, were in Stephenville.
