Can low cost carrier Iceland Express just hurry up and fly to Newark already? They've already got several Europe routes and Newark won't start until summer 2010, so we're jealous that it'll be only Euros enjoying the magical holiday surprises in store onboard Iceland Express flights this week.

Although it's been a tradition in Business and First Class for years on Lufthansa to serve roast goose with red cabbage and potato dumplings and herb crumble, this year's holiday menu and festivities will extend into coach and even into the terminals.

If you find yourself flying with Lufthansa and sadly missing out on the First Class fun because of a coach ticket, you'll at least get special Christmas cookies, and the cabin crew will be handing out around 61,000 truffle chocolates, 370,000 chocolate Santa Clauses, 270,000 snowmen, one million mini-gingerbreads and 580,000 Christmas pralines to passengers. But now for the good stuff in the front of the plane...

Happy Hanukkah! Today being the first day of the Jewish holidays of Hanukkah, we're looking at the extra special offerings onboard El Al flights from JFK and Newark. Over the next couple weeks, El Al anticipates using 1,375 potatoes, 6,600 ounces of raspberry jam, and 68 cups of cinnamon to make sufganiot (jelly donuts) and latkes (potato pancakes) for lucky passengers.
