'Project Explorer' Asks For The Definition Of A 'Global Citizen'

Whether it was because of a family road trip or National Geographic, most of us were inspired to become travelers at an early age. Now, the non-profit Project Explorer is bringing that inspiration to the classroom and exposing kids of all ages to different places around the planet. Their website, ProjectExplorer.org, provides free virtual field trips that include information about everything from the history to the culture and cuisines of far off locations around the globe. Their current trips include Jordan, Shakespearean England, South Africa, and a visit to Malaysia is also in the works.

To further their mission, Project Explorer is asking leaders, visionaries, public figures, children and the general public to answer one question: What does being a good global citizen mean to you? You can share your answer by becoming a member of Good Global Citizen. Well you are there, you can also watch inspiring videos by others who have already answered Project Explorer's call including Andrew Zimmern, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Russell Simmons, Allison Janney, Ziggy Marley, Dulé Hill, Paul Rudd and Mario Batali.

Justin Timberlake's New Costar: The Eiffel Tower

A romantic romp under the stars in Paris is the plot of a new perfume ad starring Justin Timberlake, shooting at night around the Eiffel Tower this week. Like an aging diva, the Tower won't travel for just anyone, so the singer/actor had to come to her.

The shoot, for Givenchy's cologne "Play," feature Timberlake and an actress crossing the Champ de Mars and scaling the tower at night. Since an earlier spot for the fragrance included Timberlake on a plane, this must be his destination—which makes sense, given that the brand has called Paris home since its founding in 1952. No sign of on-again off-again girlfriend (and fellow Super World Traveler) Jessica Biel on set, although the pair recently had lunch in Vancouver where she's filming the big-screen "A-Team" remake.

The Worst Way To Score An Upgrade: 'Jostle' A Flight Attendant

Everyone knows (or should know) that rule numero uno for boarding a flight is not to annoy or body check the flight attendants, because then you risk being kicked off the plane or just incurring their wrath throughout the flight. But apparently Dom Carter, news anchor for NY1 and recent subject of a domestic violence scandal, can't be bothered with clearing the aisle to make way for the flight attendants.

Dom was boarding a Delta flight from NY-LaGuardia to Kansas City on Saturday when he jostled a flight attendant, who then recognized him from the news, didn't appreciate the physical contact, and called the cops, saying "This man deliberately slammed into me, I want him off the plane!"

Who did what exactly we don't know, but we do know that Dom was kicked off the flight only to be apologized to by Delta staff and presented with an upgrade to first class, according to Gothamist. While Dom surely doesn't need his name in he news any more these past few weeks, the event seems to have turned out well for him. Still, we do not advocate bumping into flight crew in the hopes of scoring an upgrade similarly. Instead, we're still all about flattery.

How To Be A Part Of Facebook's Biopic In Baltimore

Good morning, Baltimore! Here's something you'll want to update your status about, post on people's walls and create albums for -- the Facebook movie's coming to town! And whoever manages to appear in it will win a special prize from Mark Zuckerberg of potentially knowing that you exist.

"The Social Network" is already the most anticipated movie of 2010 for film geeks as well as people who spend too much time on their computers, thanks to the participation of "The West Wing"'s Aaron Sorkin, who signed on to write the script, and "Zodiac" and "Fight Club" director David Fincher. (I am Jack's nerdy roommate having a walk-and-talk with investors?)

Zuckerberg famously dropped out of Harvard to bring his baby to life, but shooting in Cambridge can get expensive -- that's if you even get the thumbs-up from the top brass, so it's off to Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins University. Students on campus found out this week that the crew will arrive on Sunday and be shooting Monday and Tuesday.

Beckham Goes Caped Crusader For Transatlantic Flight

Last week, we had a perfect demonstration of how not to look and how not to handle your passport when Twilight star Kristen Stewart traveled through LAX looking a mess and barely holding onto her passport. But trust good old former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to trample through London-Heathrow in a black cape-y thing and giant shades and put in-flight fashion back on track.

No, we're not necessarily endorsing going pantsless with only a cape to keep you warm, but if you're flying first class from London back to the States as super world traveler Beckham is, you're welcome to look a little over-the-top. And that is why Victoria also gets a pass for toting a blue bag with a black outfit—at least she's also got her passport under wraps.

The 'New Moon' Cast Is Coming To A Mall Near You

Last year's "Twilight" mall tour at the Hollywood and Highland complex in Hollywood, Calif.

Twihards are going to have the opportunity to see the New Moon cast at their local mall this fall. Summit is sending the Twilight kids on a 15 city tour to promote the next installment of the saga. At each stop along the tour there will be a Q & A with "select" Twilight cast members, prizes and other surprises. Some of the events will also feature performances from bands on the New Moon soundtrack.

Summit is also giving some fans VIP credentials to special events with the cast. To get one of the coveted VIP wristbands, you have to be at the Hot Topic store in a participating mall by 8 a.m. on October 31. VIP credentials will be given to anyone who buys one of the store's limited edition New Moon Tour t-shirts while supplies last. The tour kicks off at L.A.'s Hollywood & Highland Center on Friday, November 6. Death Cab for Cutie, Sea Wolf and Anya Marina will also be on hand performing songs from the New Moon soundtrack. We actually (totally randomly!) hit up last year's Twilight Mall Tour at the Hollywood & Highland and it was pure chaos. Even scarier, the mania for Twilight last year wasn't as bad as it is this year. So be prepared before you go for angry, emo, vampire-loving teens. Also, R-Patz and Kristen Stewart were not in attendance at many of these mall events.

Rihanna, Future Cruise Ship Performer?

Whoever said that cruising isn't cool? Okay, aside from us? Well, with the launch of Royal Caribbean's new megaship so ginormous it might as well be named the Death Star but is instead called Oasis of the Seas, the image of cruising might be taking a turn for the better. Of course, that is only if you like spending your vacation afloat with 5,399 others who enjoy all the bells and whistles of a traditional cruise times three.

Aside from a zip line, mini Central Park, AquaTheater and cupcake cafe, the Oasis is bringing Rihanna on board. No—not a lookalike, the real deal. Rihanna will do the first performance from her upcoing album "Rated R" on board the ship's 3-day preview cruise on November 19. The album doesn't release until Monday November 23, but the lucky press and invited guests on the preview cruise will get an early piece of the new RiRi stuff.

The scene on Los Angeles' Larchmont Boulevard yesterday morning was a zoo, literally. The Annual Street Fair brought out families in droves, with a petting zoo, pony ride station, rock climbing wall, and other carnival-esque activities to regale locals and their overstimulated, hopped-up on cotton candy kids.

Larchmont is a quaint pocket of LA, "neighborhood-y" in the best possible way. This is the street where everyone really does know your name, lined with a mixture of small, independently-owned boutiques and restaurants and a few chains, too. The requisite Pinkberry and Coffee Bean are alive and kicking, rest assured. This weekend, a new restaurant called the Larchmont Bungalow joined the street's business brood, and we decided to duck past the sponge throwing station to sample their brunch menu.

Celebs Want You To Participate in Voluntourism With Them This Week

If you've watched any network TV this week you may have felt the sudden urge to do good. That's because the networks have teamed up with iParticipate—an industry-wide initiative aimed at urging viewers to participate in volunteerism—to include story lines that spotlight community service. That's also why the photo shoot on last week's Ugly Betty had a Nothing But Net theme and why Kenneth the page is going to try to adopt all of the dogs at a local shelter on Thursday's night's episode of 30 Rock. Not only will your favorite shows have a "do good" theme but the commercials will too. Several A-Listers, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew Mcconaughey, have taped ads for iParticpate reminding us that by helping others, we help ourselves.

But the Entertainment Industry Foundation, who is spearheading the initiative, isn't just spreading the message through TV, they have also scheduled several star-studded events this week to encourage people to get involved in their community. For instance, today, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba will donate her time along with more than 50 volunteers for a day of service at the Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas beginning at 10:30 AM.

12 British TV Stars Go Around The World In 80 Days For BBC

How many celebrities does it take to go around the world in 80 days? Twelve modern ones, or one Python—that's the equation the BBC has come up with for a new reality show that splits Jules Verne's classic journey up among pairs of stars for a good cause. It's "The Amazing Race" meets "The Superstars," if VH-1 were casting it.

Back in 1989, Michael Palin decided to reenact the journey taken by Phileas Fogg in Around The World in 80 Days for a BBC special, arriving back in London via Venice, Jeddah, Pune and Long Beach after 79 days and 7 hours. (The movie is currently streaming on Netflix, should you need a little travel inspiration.)

Kanye West Might Be Taking The Vacation We'd Least Expect Of Him

Has Kanye West been reading Eat, Pray, Love lately? It's been reported that the megalomaniacal star is considering going on retreat in India, to an ashram in Pondicherry to "reassess life."

After his famous interruption of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV video music awards last month, and the open liquor-swilling and outlandish behavior he exhibited in the front row and on the red carpet at the same event, it seems like Kanye is overdue for such a calming vacation. Ashrams are however designed for lengthy stays, without contact with most of the outside world and devoid of all the luxurious comforts that Kanye enjoys.
