Kate Gosselin Takes Her Plus Eight To A Wyoming Dude Ranch

September 3, 2009 at 12:24 PM | by | Comments (0)

When Kate Gosselin decided to pack up her boys and get as far away as possible from the paparazzi, and her estranged husband, she headed for the Red Reflet Ranch in Ten Sleep, Wyoming.

It's not wonder she chose this remote resort, since Red Reflet Guest Ranch caters to families, like the Gosselins, and can be reserved for groups as large as 26; they could even fit the whole Dugger clan without a problem. And the ranch has plenty of activities to keep little cowboys and cowgirls busy like horseback rising, hiking, fly fishing, swimming, cattle work, mountain biking and nightly star gazing.

September 3, 2009 at 8:39 AM | by | Comments (0)

This picture actually happened

All this weekend, Chicago will be battening the hatches in preparation for the street party of the decade. Beginning at 12:01am Monday morning and ending at 5am on Wednesday, the three blocks of Michigan Avenue from Wacker Drive to Ohio Street will be closed specially for Oprah. Actually, for Oprah's show season kickoff taping, and everybody is invited.

The actual show taping is only an hour long, starting at 5pm on Tuesday, but the street needs to be closed for the erection of a temporary stage at the river and proper preparation for crowd control and security. If you do manage to squeeze into the three blocks on Tuesday for the free show, including a performance by the Black Eyed Peas and countless other celebrity surprises, be sure to DVR the airing of the episode on September 10—9.14 is the normal premiere.

After New Orleans welcomed him with open arms, Super World Traveler Brad Pitt has set his sights on drawing tourists to another little-visited town in northern Spain. Only 860,998 cities left before tourism is saved!

The city of Avilés is in the process of building a cultural center dedicated to Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, responsible for designing the city of Brasilia and contributing to the UN Headquarters design. For the northern region of Asturias, best known as the area of Catholic reconquest of Spain from the Moors, the Centro Niemeyer will attract touring theatre productions, cultural exhibits and famous authors to the city once it opens in 2010.

Leonardo DiCaprio: King of the Travel Pillows?

Where: Nice, France
September 2, 2009 at 8:39 AM | by | Comments (0)

Despite what we may think about some of the new-fangled Travel Pillows out there on the market, it seems that the good old-fashioned neck pillow remains the most popular.

Leonard DiCaprio, taking a vacation from filming in Paris, was spotted at the Nice airport in France with him mom and with his travel neck pillow attached to his backpack. We're just happy he wasn't still wearing it after deplaning, like this passenger did. And thank god it's not a Komfort Kollar.

Interested in buying a travel pillow? Brookstone, a store that sells stuff you really don't need but is ever-present at airports and stocked with travel gear, sells a Tempurpedic Transit Pillow for $75. Flight 001 has a cheaper one for $16. Or you can upgrade to a vibrating neck pillow for $34.

Where: Venice, Italy
September 1, 2009 at 11:17 AM | by | Comments (0)

Today in Venice, the city is full of prosecco glasses clinking and red carpets rolling out as the Venice International Film Festival begins—the world's oldest film festival—and this year brings another impressive roster of films battling for the Golden Lion prize.

Actually, come to think of it, SkyEurope had routes to Venice's Treviso airport; we sure hope no one is stranded elsewhere trying to get to Venice for the films, because they'll sure be missing out on some good stuff. For instance, Michael Moore is using the fest to premiere his newest: "Capitalism: A Love Story," about the US economic meltdown.

Who Wants To Buy Paris Hilton's Boarding Pass?

August 31, 2009 at 8:54 AM | by | Comments (3)

Picture this: You sit down in your Air Pacific business class seat on your flight from New Zealand to Fiji. You open up your in-flight magazine and a boarding pass falls out. But not just any boarding pass: this one belonged to Paris Hilton, who was sitting in your very seat not too long ago.

This is exactly what happened for a Kiwi named Phil, who took home the unexpected bookmark, verified that it was legitimate, and then put it up for auction on New Zealand auction site Trade Me, with the description "This is a bit weird, but someone may want it". Much to his surprise—being self-confessed ignorant about quite how famous Paris Hilton is—the boarding pass started getting a heap of bids, at which point Phil decided to donate the proceeds of the sale to charity.

Who Will Save Our Celebrities From The Toxic Power Of Twitter?

August 27, 2009 at 8:40 AM | by | Comments (0)

Finally using her Twitter account for good, this week Britney Spears handed out tickets to her shows at Madison Square Garden in New York to a lucky fan via tweeted clues.

Is Spears playfully engaging with a new medium, or playing a dangerous game? Spears or her handlers left a series of clues for followers to parse about the place she was, like "Manhattan," and "below 60th Street and above 20th Street." The clues apparently led to the Times Square M&M store, just when you thought it was going to be something original and local-approved -- but anyway!

Tropical Storm Danny is Forming; Just Misses The Chance to Wipe Out Speidi

August 26, 2009 at 2:29 PM | by | Comments (0)

Summer storms are really getting around this summer, as another one—Tropical Storm Danny—forms just off of the Bahamas and primes to sweep up the eastern seaboard. Heidi and Spencer, who seem to be perpetually on vacation, unfortunately just missed being affected by the storm, as they splashed on the beach at The Atlantis Nassau around Heidi's lip-synching performance for the Miss Universe pageant.

Danny, which reminds us more of a booger-eating kindergartner than a furiously brewing storm (how about more named like 'Cristobal?'), might have laid off the Bahamas but he will spend this weekend wreaking havoc on the plans of beachgoers along the coast from South Carolina all the way up to Maine.

Bradley Cooper is Obviously Not on The No-Fly List

August 25, 2009 at 6:28 PM | by | Comments (0)

Hmm...perhaps we should start traveling with hunky Hangover star, Bradley Cooper? The so-hot-right-now actor and possibly Renee Zellweger romance was spotted checking himself into first class on Virgin America over the weekend, bound for NYC.

Unlike our recent travel partner, Bradley was able to actually check-in at one of the airport kiosks, something that the folks innocently listed on the No-Fly list no can do.

Another perk for Bradley? Flying first class ensures that he doesn't have to pay any extra checked baggage fees. The folks in coach however, now have to cough up a $20 fee. Main Cabin Select passengers--those who pay a little bit more for legroom, free movies and food--also skip paying the checked baggage fee.

Kanye And Amber Rose Have A Revealing Vacation In Miami, Not Barcelona

August 20, 2009 at 8:44 AM | by | Comments (0)

'Tis the season for skinny dipping! Yesterday, rapper Kanye West caused quite a stir on both Miami Beach and the internet as his model girlfriend Amber Rose stepped just short of nude.

For most of last night, it was believed that the mini peep-show occurred on a beach just outside of Barcelona, Spain, when actually the couple was just underneath our own American noses, turning their hotel beach into a skin show straight out of Europe.

While Kanye seemed upset with the paparazzi as usual, Amber however smiled and bared more and more skin, eventually going full topless and making search engines go crazy with terms like "amber rose bikini beach pics" and "barcelona kanye girlfriend nude." It only came out this morning that they were in fact in Miami, and had just as quickly returned to New York. This is what happens when you become famous, people; you get to take quick mid-week trips to the beach and frolic with your nude girlfriend. We need to start getting famous.
