Serena Williams Celebrated Her US Open Victory on the Côte d'Azur
Last week we speculated that perhaps Serena Williams would celebrate her U.S. Open win with a trip to Miami, but it turns out she opted for a romantic getaway to France instead.
The tennis superstar was spotted with her new boyfriend, coach Patrick Mouratoglou, in the French town of Valbonne, located about 10 miles north of Cannes.
The pair went window shopping and dined out in the small French town, which they apparently liked so much they took time to check out the local real estate listings. And even though one of the most prestigious tennis clubs in France, Sophia Country Club, is just a few miles from Valbonne, the new couple decided to leave their tennis rackets at home for this trip.

Celebs Flock to All of Cannes' Usual Party Spots
This year the Cannes Film Festival, taking place through May 27 in the south of France, is serving up its annual dose of Hollywood glitz and glam in all the usual places.
The Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France is a hub of A-lister activity again this year. On Saturday night the star-studded Vanity Fair and Gucci party brought out stars like Robert De Niro, Naomi Watts, and Salma Hayek, while other celebs, including Jennifer Connelly, have been spotted checking in.

L'Affable: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Hard-Partying Cannes Restaurant
We knew Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were going to have a good night in Cannes, but we didn't think it would be this good! After premiering Brad's new movie, the highly anticipated Tree of Life, at the Palais des Festivals, the couple joined a few of their celeb friends, including Naomi Campbell, at the L'Affable restaurant to celebrate.
L'Affable is a pretty affordable place when it's not Film Festival season. A prix fixe dinner menu runs 39 Euros, whereas lunch of a few courses is only 25 Euros.
Though Brad and Ange looked flawless when they arrived at the place, by the time they emerged a few hours later, he had an ear-to-ear grin and she looked completely disheveled, with messy hair, smeared make-up and glassy eyes. We're not sure what happened inside the party, but based on the looks of Brangelina, we're guessing a lot of alcohol was involved!

What We Missed Out On In Cannes

Once again Jaunted Flickr Pool member Chris Gold has come through with a bunch of great travel snapshots for us to sift through on this lazy Friday before Labor Day. Spotted at the Palais Club Disco in Cannes: a girl dancing barefoot on the bar. Not a very wise idea in our opinion. There could be sharp glass and sticky grenadine and blow on that bar there. But when it's hot in Cannes, it doesn't matter.
The massive club can hold about 2,500 jetsetters. Their dress code is listed as "dressy" and this is not a cheap joint. Prepare to max out your Amex. Or get Gianfranco to foot the bill. But it does have a rooftop from where you can gaze out at the Mediterranean and escape the deeply-tanned Euros smoking cigarettes and waving their sparklers.
Sadly, if you're looking to party at the Palais, you'll have to wait until next summer. The club had its summer closing party last weekend.

Most stars dream of representing their latest film at the Cannes Film Festival and most film fans dream of watching them walk down the red carpet. Cannes is the biggest, flashiest and most decadent festival on the circuit, the place to be and be seen. If you're lucky enough to find yourself at Cannes this year, here's our list of where to stay, where to eat and what to see.
