Where To Legally Join The Mile High Club
It has never been more difficult to join the Mile High Club than it is today. Even if two of you successfully make it into the bathroom, that darn space has gotten so small that you can barely go about your usual business; forget sexy affairs.
In response to these hassles, at least two aviation groups have sprung up, solely specializing in flights for Mile High Club membership:
· Erotic Airways
A legit (enough) operation out of Queensland, Australia, they'll fly lovers up in twin-engine Beech H-18S from Redcliffe Airport, Nathan Road, Redcliffe Peninsular. Flights for a couple start at $570 for a 40-minute flight, and include champagne, chocolates, a safe sex kit, and a certificate of Mile High membership.
Tack on another $63 per extra passenger, until the onboard double bed is packed full, should you desire. The semi-NSFW website is worth a glance, if only to be highly entertained at their copious use of the words "sexperience" and "sexpedition."

Nevada Desert Getting Ready for the Big Burn

All you fans of pyrotechnics, hallucinogenic drugs, peace and love, and running around naked better listen up…well actually if you’re a fan of all those things, you probably already know exactly where you’ll be August 31 to September 7: Nevada.
Some 48,000 like-minded folks will hit Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the 23rd annual edition of the Burning Man arts festival. Attendees basically view the vast desert landscape as a blank canvas, erecting gigantic art installations, performing guerilla theater, and of course singing and dancing everywhere, all day and night, until everyone passes out (which is never). Of course, half the people there nowadays are mostly just there to watch the giant sculpture burn down at the festival’s close.

Burning Man Burns Early This Year

There is no joy in Black Rock City today. Hippies, artists and people who love fire head to Nevada every year for the Burning Man festival, a desert encampment full of people in crazy costumes, making new friends and (allegedly) enjoying mind-altering substances. The centerpiece of the festivities is a giant wooden man packed with explosives, scheduled to burn at the conclusion of the festival Saturday night.
At least, that's how it was supposed to happen until a participant and Hunter S. Thompson impersonator decided to set the Man on fire early Tuesday morning. Because of the forthcoming lunar eclipse, many people in the camp were awake at around 3AM when Paul Addis allegedly set the Man's leg on fire; event staff put the fire out, but the Man will have to be rebuilt before Saturday.
Addis' motives are not clear, but a 2002 letter to the editor he sent to the San Francisco Weekly criticized the amount of control the planners of Burning Man have over participants. Fight the power, Addis!

The Man Burns
Whoo! Burning Man! The famed outdoor festival took place last week in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, and here's the video to prove it, as many attendees will only remember it as a fever dream. The weird thing is, between the fireworks, and the cheering, and the, uh, flaming structure, it almost seems kind of wholesome. It's like a really intense and meaningful Fourth of July party, in a way. Almost.
