Time to print out some new passports: Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt were born yesterday in Nice, France. Mom and twins, who stunned the world by failing to be born when Entertainment Tonight! said they would, were doing fine according to a statement by the mayor of Nice.
Vivienne and Knox join their four siblings, adoptees from Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam and a biological sister who was born in Namibia. Now they're only three bodies away from being able to field their own World Cup soccer team.
Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and baby Suri went for a stroll on Independence Day in Telluride, Colorado. Cruise has owned a home in the ski town for years, sharing the local mountain air with Oprah and Oliver Stone.
Other stars used their holiday weekend to visit summer homes, plan sexy getaways or just get out of the house for a bit.
They faked us out once before, so we'll be super careful in announcing that allegedlyAngelina Jolie checked into a hospital yesterday to go on bed rest before she gives birth to the latest Super World Travelers, the twins she is expecting with Brad Pitt.
The babes, reportedly twin girls, will have dual French citizenship because she's currently resting in L'Hopital Lenval in Nice.
"Entertainment Tonight" led the charge in late May to declare that the twins, reportedly due in August, had already been born. Turned out it was just a rumor, possibly spread by an ex-Super Traveler sidekick (er, assistant). This time it was the French media's turn to jump the gun on the planned expansion to America's real first family. But if she were just there for a checkup, would her obstetrician be giving a press conference? We think not!
They enrolled the kids in schools there. One of them worked there. And rumor had it they were going to get married there. But nothing can hold Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie back from what they were born to do: crisscross the globe.
That's why after 2 years, the Super World Travelers and their brood have sold their New Orleans home and, Pied Piper-style, have drawn the paparazzi presence around them to France.
The couple had become involved in post-Katrina rebuilding efforts in New Orleans, dedicating their names and money if not their time. But maybe Angelina wanted a more secluded location, like southeast France, for when she finally gives birth to her expected twins?
Good luck putting that in your checked bag: Brad Pitt toured Art Basel in Switzerland yesterday and dropped over $1 million on art. Apparently the brand new soon-to-be father has a bit of the nesting impulse; chief among his purchases was a $293,000... table.
He also picked up a lamp and some chairs. (You can feast your eyes here.)
It's easier to bring giant art in through the airport than, say, perfume in a four-ounce bottle bought outside security. But you might want a refresher on duty-free rules. Not that Super World Travelers need to handle that kind of thing--they have staff.
ZOMG, bigger news than the SATC release! ET reports that Angelina Jolie has given birth to her twins Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane. The Super World Traveler finds herself in France, which we'd say is substantially less exotic than Namibia.
Still, those names!
Dad Brad Pitt and Jolie just took out a lease on a massive estate in the south of the country, so maybe that means they'll be sticking around for a bit. The property, the Chateau Miraval, is just a bit east of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, a great jumping off point for trips to the island of Corsica.
NB:Maybe this is all just a crazy rumor! Except for, you know, the stuff about the south of France.
Angelina Jolie made it to the Cannes Film Festival this week with a little extra, shall we say, carry-on luggage: The actress's co-star in the forthcoming animated film "Kung Fu Panda," Jack Black, accidentally let it slip that, as tabloids have been predicting for months now, the Jolie-Pitt clan is expecting two new family members. Doesn't she look great, though?
While Jolie and Brad Pitt have stayed mum on the pregnancy, they are expected to announce tomorrow in an interview with the Today show the due date of the newest Super World Travelers. Jolie bore her first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, in Namibia--to which remote country will she travel for twins?
Despite the claims of some lesser tabloids, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not get married this weekend in New Orleans. However, the minister who allegedly wed them wants the Super World Travelers to know, they can stop by any time to tie the knot!
"We're glad they're neighbors," says Tony Talavera, co-owner (with his wife) of the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. Brangelina may or may not be adding another baby or two to their brood, depending on whether you believe their publicists or Angelina's rounded-in-that-baby-kind-of-way stomach.
