Haiti Welcomes Bill Clinton, But Is It Ready To Welcome Hordes Of Tourists?
Last time we tried to visit Haiti, we were turned around on account of safety concerns surrounding a presidential election in the country, and it probably doesn't help that a friend's entire family fled the country years ago. These are the type of negative views on Haiti that former president Bill Clinton seeks to reverse in his position as a special envoy to Haiti. He made another visit to the struggling country and specifically addressed the need for tourism. So, are you ready to head to Port-au-Prince for a weekend away? But what we really should be asking is if Haiti is ready for you.
In his goodwill trip to encourage tourism, Clinton didn't exactly take the most tourist-friendly route:

Clinton Kicks North Korea Into Giving Back Jailed Journalists
Thinking about heading to North Korea for the Arirang Mass Games? You better hope that former President Bill Clinton has got your back, just like he has with the two Current TV journalists who were arrested on the North Korean border in March and sentenced to 12 years in a hard labor camp for "committing hostilities against the Korean nation and illegal entry.”
During Clinton's brief visit, which focused solely on negotiating the freedom of the womenLaura Ling, 32, and Euna Lee, 36and not North Korea's recent nuclear tests, he met with good old Kim Jong-il, who wasn't looking all that ill.

Candidates Travel: Hillary's Stump Man Endures Robot Protest
While stumping for Senator Hillary Clinton in Iowa, former President Bill Clinton was heckled by a robot in a prank by a University of Iowa associate professor.
Communications Professor Kembrew McLeod writes on his website that he dressed up as a robot and disrupted the speech because he wanted Clinton to apologize for misquoting African-American activist Sister Souljah in 1992 and painting her as a militant. After McLeod tossed hundreds of little slips of paper in the air, Clinton asked him to protest in a more environmentally sound manner, but Professor McLeod didn't apologize.
Even Hillary supporters have to admit she has drawn a certain benefit from having her husband on the stump. Michelle Obama shows us the "stinky" side of Barack, and Elizabeth Edwards' inspiring battle with cancer has touched a chord with millions, but Bill's political career might bring back warm memories of a pre-W age for many Democrats. Still, that history can also be a liability.
If you, too, want to get thrown out of a Clinton appearance while dressed as a robot, Madame Senator will be at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, New Jersey tonight for a fundraiser with New Jersey governor Jon Corzine and singer Tony Bennett. Next up is an event in her hometown at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on December 18.
Thanks to our Iowa friend "Bill S. Preston" for the tip!

Showtime For Bill Clinton At The Apollo

When MTV offers to throw you a party, you don't say no. That's why Bill Clinton spent his Saturday night fundraising at New York's Apollo Theater with Shakira, Bono, Wyclef Jean and Chris Rock.
The former president has been on tour to promote his new book Giving and the Clinton Global Initiative, a series of summits of world leaders on various topics. Stars talked about their nonprofit work, and then performed for a sold-out crowd.
Alas, Clinton didn't break out his saxophone and jam. But among the donations announced was a $300 million bounty which will be awarded to the designer of a car that gets 100 miles to the gallon. Such a ride would get you from the Apollo to the White House on just 2.5 gallons of gas.
