Let's talk a bit about one of the biggest travel mysteries: how to get all your crap into a single bag. Here, makeup expert, fashion writer and frequent traveler Lilit M. shares what cosmetics have made the final edit to reach her travel makeup case:

I have one general rule about makeup. The answer must be "yes" to the question, "can I put it on in an airplane bathroom?" Passing that test, a product is permanently welcomed into my arsenal. Even when I'm not traveling, I appreciate beauty products that are efficient, multipurpose, and easy to use. So what's in my bag? Here's the breakdown:

· The bag. Mine's from MUJI. It's lightweight, has several compartments and a handle that makes it easy to transport. Most importantly, it's machine-washable.

· Lipstick. Even if I skip all other makeup, a little bit of lipstick makes me feel and look more awake. I carry two: a more casual lip stain from Clinique for every day, and a rich cream lipstick from Tom Ford for more formal occasions, like business meetings or dinners out.
