Please Do Not Make Out With The Art, Merci

We love art. We really, really love art, especially modern art. But we'd stop just short of doing what one museum visitor did last week at Avignon's Collection Lambert, when an ardent art lover allegedly kissed a Cy Twombly painting worth a cool $2 mill.

The woman, whose name was not released, goes on trial next month for smudging the white canvas with her lipstick. After she was taken to the police station, she told reporters, "A red stain remained on the canvas... This red stain is testimony to this moment, to the power of art." Lesson for all paramours of modern art: Wear clear gloss, escape detection.
