28 Original Photos of Awesome Street Art in Miami's Wynwood District
Here at Jaunted, we're pretty partial to street art. In fact, the last couple years have seen us cut entire days from traveling just to scope out the rough creativity evident on the street of Santiago, Chile; Stavanger, Norway; Milan, Italy and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Exotic destinations all, but here's a little secret: the best street art we've ever seen is right here in the USA.
The recipient of this compliment is Miami's Wynwood district, home to galleries aplenty and, once a year, the Design Miami art fair during Art Basel. Considering the artistic appeal of the neighborhood, it's really no surprise to turn corners and be awed by a mural. What we are shocked to find is a community that's literally wall-to-wall stupendous street art, from graffiti to wheatpaste and beyond.

OMG. Deep Fried Oreos, Yo.
OH MAH GAWD you guys. So we like food trucks, that much is plain, but we love dessert food trucks even more. Something about decadence on the go seems like the answer to all of life's problems. After spending last week in Miami, we can pinpoint that even further to the awesomeness that are deep-fried Oreos.
The yummy is made by taking regular ol' Oreos, dunking them in batter and popping in a deep fryer. Dust with powdered sugar and serve. Occasionally the food truck (called 80s Sensation) is parked in Wynwood at NW 2nd Ave and NW 23rd Street and they specialize in such junk food indulgences. To be fair, we didn't know they were '80s-themed or what was going on; we just saw the sign "deep-fried Oreos" from across the parking lot and made a bee-line for it.

From the Adriatic to Evian: A Beach Chat with Diane von Furstenberg
Fashion designer/global mogul Diane von Furstenberg needs no introduction. There's so much we could say about her, from her international career path to her time as a member of the "jet set" when that term meant something, but it's the simplest thing we'll speak of now: her relationship with water.
DVF's mantra is a simple one: "Love is Life." Recognizing that one cannot live to love without the sustaining power of water, she's collaborated to design the 2013 limited-edition designer Evian bottle, wrapping it with that very mantra. To promote it, Diane jetted up to Art Basel Miami Beach from Brazil this past weekend, which is where we caught a moment with her, heels sunk into on the sand at Soho Beach House.
The water (as you can see from our photos) was ridiculously tempting that day. Little aqua waves broke on shore and so we asked the globe-hopping Diane for a few of her favorite places to go for a dip.

Travel Cat spotted in: Miami Beach's Art Deco District
This week's Travel Cat comes from yours truly! We're chillin' in Miami during Art Basel 2012 and, while walking down 14th Street towards Collins earlier this afternoon, we spotted both a black and white kitty cat also relaxing in the 79-degree weather. If you're familiar with the lolcat meme, just think of them as ceiling cat and basement cat.
