Watch the Golden Globes at Alec Baldwin's House (We Wish!)
Usually when people speculate on the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's pre-Oscars awards for film and television, they're thinking about whether their favorite actors will take home the big prizes. But this year, the question is: Will anyone even be there to pick up their awards? Because of the strike, the WGA officially rejected the HFPA's request for writers--and it plans to do the same for the Oscars. The Globes might be going out to an empty audience.
If you're an A-lister who can't stand to do nothing on Globes night, January 13, how about going to Alec Baldwin's place? The "30 Rock" star, who's been covering the strike for the Huffington Post, jokingly invited everyone over to his New York apartment for Globes night--and there's even a catering menu! As Baldwin writes:
Beverages are as follows: Liter of red or white wine or 6 (six) cold bottles of Amstel (promotional) complimentary. All other cocktails will be cash bar. (Sprite, Coke, Strawberry YooHoo and Diet Peach Snapple are complimentary.)
Getting drunk in NYC with Alec Baldwin? We only wish he were serious.
