Alec Baldwin Has Moved On to Play 'Words With Friends' on a Different Airline

April 9, 2012 at 10:03 AM | by | Comments (0)

At this point you’ve probably heard about Alec Baldwin and his problems with following the directions—or mandates—of flight attendants. He really didn’t enjoy his last trip on American Airlines, which saw him kicked off a flight for continuing to play Words With Friends on the runway. After a bunch of he-said-she-said along with an appearance on SNL, it seemed that things were in the past, but now we’re not so sure since Alec’s been spotted with another airline.

Alec Baldwin was kind enough to snap a photo with the JetBlue crew to show his appreciation for NYC’s hometown airline, and of course they were quick to share it with the world via their blog. Sure, he was playing the role of the friendly celeb, but he's still sticking it to American Airlines with stunts like this.

Alec Baldwin Rejoins Twitter During a Cushy Weekend in Turks and Caicos

January 9, 2012 at 10:13 AM | by | Comments (0)

He's baaack! Alec Baldwin mysteriously rejoined Twitter this weekend following his breakdown a month ago when an American Airlines flight attendant had him removed from a plane for refusing to stop playing the iPhone game "Words With Friends." Alec did eventually catch another AA flight from the west coast to NYC, but not before firing off some hurtful tweets towards the airline. And then he disappeared, deleting his Twitter account completely, or so we thought.

Just like it never happened, @alecbaldwin has been reinstated, complete with his original follower count and "verified" status. Although there have been no more invectives against American Airlines, we know the real reason Alec re-joined: publicity, of course.

Alec is an actor with upcoming projects to promote, not the least of which is this Thursday's premiere of Season 6 of NBC's 30 Rock. It's even been confirmed that Alec would show again if the series renews its contract for a seventh season. And, last but certainly not least, it's obvious that Alec loves to hear himself talk and enjoys the little extra bits of publicity his tweets create—kind of like this.

Of course he couldn't re-start his Twitter game without bragging about some travel; Alec just returned from a romantic departure to Turks & Caicos with his girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, where they tweeted about a plane delay and the small size of the departure lounge. Boo hoo.

The Latest on the Alec Baldwin, Words With Friends, American Airlines Insanity

December 12, 2011 at 8:25 AM | by | Comments (0)

Stop us if you've already seen this, but Alec Baldwin took his Words With Friends cause to SNL's Weekend Update on Saturday night to, well...apologize to himself.

In case you've been living in a cave the last several days, the story goes a little something like this: Baldwin was sitting on an American Airlines plane at LAX, playing the mobile app word game "Words With Friends." The plane door had already been closed (the cue to turn off electronic devices), and Alec refused flight attendant demands to turn off his device. He continued playing the Scrabble-like game, even retreating to the airplane bathroom in anger. So the plane kicked him off.

Alec tweeted his frustrations before being placed on a later flight, vowing never to fly American Airlines again. This was followed by a media flurry over the whole juicy ordeal, Alec mysteriously closing his Twitter account, and an offer from Greyhound to come play Words With Friends with their CEO on their buses.

So, back to the SNL video....

American Airlines Plane Boots Alec Baldwin Over 'Words With Friends'

December 6, 2011 at 5:20 PM | by | Comments (0)

Did you feel that? If the internet could have earthquakes, we'd have just experienced a minor one as Alec Baldwin went from tweeting like normal, to getting kicked off an American Airlines plane at LAX, to being in custody, to becoming a trending topic, to giving his side of the story via Twitter in just about the span of one hour.

The reason for the tarmac takedown? Apparently, according to Alec, he was playing the popular mobile Scrabble-like app Words With Friends when a flight attendant "reamed" him out. Of course he was probably still playing it beyond the point of being asked to turn off and stow all electronic devices for take-off, hence the flight attendant interference. We predict that the next few days will see news channels rehashing the old argument of whether or not cell signals interfere with airplanes. You know, that old chestnut.

Watch the Golden Globes at Alec Baldwin's House (We Wish!)

December 18, 2007 at 8:45 AM | by | Comments (0)

Usually when people speculate on the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's pre-Oscars awards for film and television, they're thinking about whether their favorite actors will take home the big prizes. But this year, the question is: Will anyone even be there to pick up their awards? Because of the strike, the WGA officially rejected the HFPA's request for writers--and it plans to do the same for the Oscars. The Globes might be going out to an empty audience.

If you're an A-lister who can't stand to do nothing on Globes night, January 13, how about going to Alec Baldwin's place? The "30 Rock" star, who's been covering the strike for the Huffington Post, jokingly invited everyone over to his New York apartment for Globes night--and there's even a catering menu! As Baldwin writes:

Beverages are as follows: Liter of red or white wine or 6 (six) cold bottles of Amstel (promotional) complimentary. All other cocktails will be cash bar. (Sprite, Coke, Strawberry YooHoo and Diet Peach Snapple are complimentary.)

Getting drunk in NYC with Alec Baldwin? We only wish he were serious.
