Celebrate the Season with New Routes From American, Air Canada, JAL, and More

November 29, 2013 at 8:53 AM | by | Comments (0)

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.

· Air Canada Rouge:
The budget arm of Air Canada has decided that its customers need access to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios all year long, as it is now going to fly down to Orlando even more frequently. Air Canada Rouge will start flying between Orlando and Toronto throughout the entire year, and it will also boost the service even further—adding two more daily flights—between the middle of December and the end of April next year. Airbus A319s will be responsible for taking to the skies, but you will be responsible for finding a deal on theme park tickets.

· Hawaiian Airlines:
We can all agree that Hawaii is a great place to check out, but we certainly can’t complain about continuing on towards somewhere else instead of returning home. Thanks to Hawaiian Airlines that’s an option, as tickets are now on sale for its new route between Honolulu and Beijing. This is the carrier’s first destination in mainland China, as Airbus A330s are expected to hit the skies on April 16, 2014. The route is still awaiting some necessary government approval paperwork and what not, but if tickets are already being sent out, it’s probably a pretty safe bet to go through. Flights will run thrice per week—enjoy.

Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines, and JetBlue Star in This Week's New Route News

July 5, 2013 at 7:57 AM | by | Comments (0)

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.

· Aer Lingus:
There’s usually not a lot of new routes news from the Aer Lingus group, but that is certainly not the case this week. The carrier just announced that they’re getting ready to launch a couple new flights to spots in North America, but it will be a few months—like almost a year—before these flights takeoff. Up first are the scheduled nonstop options between Dublin and San Francisco, as Airbus A330s are set to debut on this route beginning around March of 2014.

After that it’s going to be Toronto to Dublin, as Boeing 757s will begin doing their thing during the warmer months. Capacity boosts might also arrive in spots like New York and Boston, but the new nonstops to San Francisco and Toronto are clearly the big news here.

· JetBlue:
Just last week it was time for JetBlue to send another new route into the skies, and this time the carrier is going for a spot in Costa Rica. JetBlue is now doing the nonstop thing between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.

Flights leave around 9:45am local time out of Florida, and they will arrive at about 10:30am local time. On the way back it’s roughly a 1:30pm departure time, as the flight will be scheduled to touchdown back in the United States around 6:30pm—again all times local.

These duds feature the the airline's signature burgundy color with a few fun flourishes. Ladies bring a red-zippered cardigan and colorful scarf with the "R" logo pattern in reds, blue and gold (by Canadian designer Marilena Cobuzzi). Comfort is key when it comes to footwear; Vancouver shoe brand John Fluevog specially designed a heather grey, double Mary Jane with burgundy trim and soles. For primping, L'Oreal and Redken worked to provide custom makeup and grooming products.

When it comes to the craze of premium economy seating it looks like Air Canada is up next. Fortunately, they’re not taking the usual North American approach when it comes to this section of the coach cabin, as it’s going more than just a boost in legroom.

The plan is to start off small, as Air Canada gets ready to prepare for their new seats across five of their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. First and foremost those sitting in the forward cabin—of the rear cabin—will have their own little seating section, as there will be a dedication Premium Economy cabin. Larger seats are the big news here, as the seats are wider, offer like seven more inches of legroom, and they even recline just a little bit more.

Where: Canada
December 18, 2012 at 11:58 AM | by | Comments (0)

Hey look! There's fun new airline stuff happening up in the Canada, too! Today, Air Canada makes the announcement that they're proceeding with the launch of a low-cost carrier little brother airline, to be called Air Canada rouge, a name decided through a Facebook contest. Yes, that "R" is lowercase, but we're going to uppercase it from here on out to save our sanity.

Beginning July 1, 2013, Air Canada Rouge will jet from Toronto to a variety of international destinations, some never before serviced by Air Canada itself. We're talking Venice, Edinburgh and Athens from $949 roundtrip, Cuba from $538 (roundtrip) and Jamaica, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic from $269 (one-way). These are the introductory, yay-we-will-fly-soon fares to get you all hot and bothered, and they're good for booking on aircanada.com and aircanadavacations.com until December 25, 2011.
