Deployed Travel: Homebound Harry
Did that insidious force, "The Media," force the British army to pull England's Prince Harry out of Afghanistan? The second successor to the throne, after being rejected from an assignment in Iraq, had been with his regiment in Helmand province until some news sources, notably the Drudge Report, leaked the news that he was in Afghanistan.
Harry was scheduled to return to England in a few weeks, but the military was forced to withdraw him early over concerns for his safety.
Critics say the media was observing an informal but binding embargo of news on Harry's whereabouts. Defenders counter that all soldiers are in danger, whether or not they carry the last name Windsor. What's the most dangerous place you've ever traveled?
