Two New Tours Introduce Fans to Cities Where 'The Giver' Was Filmed

The Giver might be set in a world lacking color and memory but in reality the new movie was filmed in two of the world's most vibrant cities - Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa.

To celebrate the film's release, African Travel, Inc has two tours that will bring fans to the cities where where The Giver's stars -including Katie Holmes, Taylor Swift, Jeff Bridges, Alexander Skarsgård, and Meryl Streep - lived while filming The Giver.

The Ultimate Safari tour gives travelers five full days to explore Cape Town before heading to Kruger Private Reserve, Livingstone, the Chobe River, Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Johannesburg. For 16-days guests will travel to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, see the penguins at Boulders Beach, take a cellar tour of a local winery and more. Prices start from $10,895 per person.

Portions of The Giver were also shot in Jo’Burg where African Travel is planning a In the Footsteps of Mandela tour through the places Nelson Mandela visited during his fight to end apartheid. Participents will see Freedom Square, and the Hector Pieterson Memorial and the Aparthied Museum before visiting the Karongwe Private Game Reserve for an authentic Africa adventure.

The eight-day In the Footsteps of Mandela trip starts at $3,195 per person.
