Training Camp Travel: Smile for HBO's Cameras with the Atlanta Falcons

Are you ready for some football?! There’s still a few months before the first official kickoff, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t time for a sneak peek. Training camps are set to do their thing later this month, so if you’ve always wanted to check out the scrimmages and practices now’s the time to start planning:

The Atlanta Falcons—and their fans—are eager for the season to get underway, and that’s especially the case since last year did not go as well as planned. Quaterback Matt Ryan is back, and we can only assume better than ever. Wide rescivers Julio Jones and Roddy White recently commented that they think they can each catch for 1,500 receiving yards—something never done in a season before.

Oh—and besides all the football action—there’s also a little bit of a Hollywood presecene during the preseason and training camp. Cameras and crews from HBO will be taking it all in, as the team is featured on this season’s Hard Knowcks.

· When's Camp:
For the past decade the team has been getting ready in Flowery Branch, Georgia, and this year is no exception. There are plenty of pratices before the preseason games begin, but time is running out for those to check things out in person. It looks like August 9, 11, and 12 are the remaining optionshead over here to look at the full schedule, times, and details.

· What's it Cost:
No charge for a little Atlanta Falcons entertainment, as things are free for fans. Go ahead and park the family car across the street from the Hog Mountain Sports Complex, and if you need something to type in your phone—it’s 4450 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch, Georgia, 30542.

· What Else:
The summer in Georgia gets pretty darn hot, so up on the hill there’s some covered seating to beat the heat. Just note that bringing your own nice and cool beverages is kind of limited, as they repeat again and again that coolers are not permitted at practice.

The Official Falcons Gear Tent is hanging out near the main entrance, so as with most teams there are plenty of options to stock up on shirts and stuff for 2014. Finally, you won’t go hungry, as they’ll be selling food and beverages as well.
