Summer might be winding down, but there are still tickets available for L.A. River Expeditions Summer 2014 Kayaking Trips in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area.

The guided tour takes kayakers through one of the most scenic stretches of the L.A. in San Fernando Valley for great views of wildlife and leisurely paddling.

The 2 1/2 hour trip includes all basic equipment and information about environmental protections for the river, widllife, and the river's history.

Tickets for the remaining Summer Kayaking Trips are $60 and can be purchased lariverexpeditions2014.brownpapertickets.com.

If you can't make it on a tour but are still interested in preservation of the river, there will be an L.A. River Clean Up event taking place on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Marsh Park. There is no registration necessary, volunteers can just show up and start helping out.
