United's Newest Safety Video is Surprisingly Entertaining

August 4, 2014 at 8:50 AM | by | ()

We’ve seen our share of airline safety videos, and once again there’s another carrier releasing a refresh and upgrade of their pre-flight entertainment. This time it’s United, and we have to say we’re pleased with their latest presentation.

Now it’s hardly comparable to an offering from Air New Zealand or Virgin America, but for United—and what we think is the airline’s personality—it’s a decent fit and certainly an improvement.

The signature sound of United plays in the background, and you’re greeted by several different employees speaking several different languages. There’s different scenes in different cities blending airline rules with real life situations, and they’re certainly going for the international approach—or at least showing you some good images to help inspire you for another United flight to somewhere like Paris or New York.

The humor is more subtle than over-the-top, but we think they did a good job for themselves here. Catch the full video above, or just pay attention before taking-off on your next United flight.
