Finnair Flaunts Plans for Their Brand New Airbus A350s

Earlier this summer we were finally able to check out FInnair and their up in the air abilities, but now it looks like we’ll have to try them out once again—we know, so difficult. That’s because the carrier is anxiously awaiting some brand new planes from the folks over at Airbus. The planes are some A350-XMBs to be specific, and in advance of their arrival the airline is showing off and sharing some images of the cabin.

The design, look, and feel of things are all thanks to the dSign Vertti Kivi & Co firm over in Helsinki. Travelers can expect a more spacious cabin, but that’s probably more the airplane than the design team—think larger windows, ambient lighting, and an improved air filtration system.

As for seats it’s going to be close to 300 passengers aboard the new plane, and 46 of those options will feature business class seats with fully flat beds. Toward the back of the plane is where there will be a three-three-three seating plan, and it sounds like Finnair is cutting back on the legroom. They’re only going with 31 inches of seat pitch back here—they’re Zodiac Z300 slim line seats—but thankfully there will be 43 Economy Comfort options where you can pay more to get more legroom and a slightly fancier seat.

Thankfully you still have some time to add to the travel piggy bank, as things won’t be hitting the skies until earlier next year. Finnair is planning on sending their very first planes to spots like Beijing, Shanghai, and Bangkok. We’ll be sure to let you know when the first plane touches down, and when the water cannons welcome them to the airport.
