Brazil's Azul Sets Sights on First Flights to Florida

Not too long ago we heard about Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S/A—or Azul to their friends—and their plans to expand outside of the market down in Brazil. Nothing has been made official as of yet, but it does sound like the domestic airlines is close to fulfilling their hopes of going international.
One of the first routes to see Azul may be between Sao Paulo and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the airline plans to undercut the competition with fares below $1,000—maybe even as low as $600 through promotional rates.
Azul will utilize Airbus A330s to get the flights done, and if things go according to plan the back and forth could begin as soon as December of this year.
After that the sky’s the limit—ha—as the carrier will lease a few more of the wide body planes into their hangars. Spots like Los Angeles and Las Vegas will likely be added to the route network, and that’s all before 2017. Should US flights go well, Azul even has their eyes on Europe.
Naturally we'll be following Azul's progress, and will be sure to let you know when any discount Brazil tickets are to be had.
