No matter where in the world the team goes to celebrate their victory, it probably won't beat the post-match parties in Rio on Sunday. It all started in the Maracanã Stadium, where Shakira, Gerald Butler, David Beckham, Tom Brady, Ashton Kutcher, Mick Jagger, and even Vladimir Putin were among the 74,000 soccer fans in the stands watching as fireworks (and German fans) erupted after the team's win.
Rihanna was also in town to celebrate with the team but she might have gotten herself into some hot water when she touched (and kissed) the trophy. FIFA guidelines state that only winners and heads of state are allowed to handle the famous trophy, though none of the players seemed to mind the attention.
Next year the focus will be on the ladies as the Women's World Cup takes place in Vancouver, Canada.
