From Cleveland to Syracuse, New Restaurants are Popping Up at the Airport

If you’re headed off to the airport anytime soon there’s probably a chance you’ll need something to eat at some point, so here's a heads-up for the newest openings and coming soon situations.

For those who have summer vacation plans in upstate New York, Syracuse airport officials are hard at work getting one of those Johnny Rockets spots—famous for burgers, fries, and nostalgia—ready before the end of the year. A new Dunkin’ Donuts and Market Express have already opened up shop, and there are also plans to feature some local brews and beverages over at Middle Ages Alehouse.

The flights might not be as plentiful as they once were over in Cleveland—thanks United—but that doesn’t mean that the airport doesn’t want to feed and entertain its passengers. Sammy Hagar was at the airport the other day, as he helped cut the ribbon to welcome Sammy’s Beach Bar and Grill. There’s a couple of locations elsewhere, so we can only assume they know what they’re doing at this point. Over in Concourse A you can expect cuisine inspired by the beach, and plenty of boozy drinks based off his Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum.

Finally, things in Charleston, South Carolina are getting a little bit of a revamp and renovation, as a new company is now in charge of dishing out things to hungry passengers. Spots like Bogchi Grill and Triple B’s—the extra letters stand for barbeque, bourbon, and burgers will soon be making their debut within the airport’s Central Hall. The full offerings will take some time to get ready, but by 2015 things should be ready to go. At that time you can expect spots like (the oddly named) Caviar and Bananas, Wendy’s, Charleston Beer Works, DeSano’s Pizza Bakery and Bar, and Bar Harvest and Grounds Bakery and Coffee—which will feature locally roasted offerings from King Bean Coffee Roasters.
