Thumbs Up from the FAA for Virgin Galactic Flights to Space
June 2, 2014 at 12:01 PM
We have been following the goings-on from the folks over at Virgin Galactic for quite some time, and it seems like only a matter of time before tickets are offered up for sale and passengers head towards the great beyond.
Things are getting one step closer, as Virgin Galactic recently submitted all kinds of paperwork and presentations to Uncle Sam and his buddies over at the Federal Aviation Administration. Thankfully everyone seems to be onboard with the plan, and that means we’re one step closer to taking off into outer space.
Technically the agreement doesn’t really give them a license to do their space thing, but it does outline all the parameters and what not regarding using airspace high above the nifty fifty for this kind of fun.
As far as the space stuff is concerned Virgin Galactic is still doing their best to get things into the space and the sky by the end of the year. There’s still more FAA agreements, rules, and regulations to discuss, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed, let you know if things change, and continue to search the couch cushions for change to fund our ride.
