Take a Look at the Snazzy Airplane Flying Belgium's Team to the World Cup
It's go time, folks. If the 2014 World Cup teams aren't already in Brazil, then they're on their way. A few days ago we detailed 7 special planes taking teams to the World Cup down in Brazil, but one aircraft stands out from the pack. Owing to details both inside and out, it's Brussels Airlines Airbus A330 that's caught our eye and, apparently, also that of Facebook.
This specific plane, tail number OO-SFO, is painted with the team's Red Devils colors and symbol, along with soccer ball. That's the tip of the iceberg, however; the interior is fully kitted out with everything from green soccer pitch-print aisle carpeting to custom embroidered headrests in Business Class for each of the team's players. Bulkheads between cabins feature images of the team in action, and there's even a social media hashtag for the flight number (#SN2014). The idea is for the players to use the hashtag while posting selfies and such to their channels, and fans can interact and follow the action.
The airplane looks so good that we sincerely hope Brussels Airlines considers keeping it around for a little bit, to run on regular routes and spread Belgian pride, regardless of how the team performs in the World Cup.
With a departure treat like this, however, it seems the team is off to Brazil on the right foot.
