One-Way Rentals are Zipcar's Answer to Your Prayers

Back when Zipcar first starting doing its thing there was a little less competition then there is now, and that’s why the rental car company is expanding its offerings to provide customers what they need. This fall is when Zipcar ONE>WAY will start doing its thing, as it is designed to offer up one-way rental options thanks to fleet of 2015 Honda Fit automobiles.

Right now things are kind of in the middle of a soft launch over in Boston, but it will be later this year before things expand elsewhere. Renters will need to borrow the cars for a minimum of 30 minutes, but returning them elsewhere within the city—along with a guaranteed parking spot—is totally acceptable and welcomed. Cities seem to be the main goal here, but their press release does mention that they’re looking at select airport as well and that would be pretty darn nifty.

All the little details like location and pricing seem to be limited at this point, so you’ll have to stay tuned to see how things shake out. Sure programs like Uber and Lyft can give you a one-way ride to where you need to be, but getting behind the wheel with Zipcar ONE>WAY might be a little more convenient—like for that IKEA run.
