Inside the Amenity Kit: TAM Business Class to Brazil

Where: Brazil

We come across some downright awesome airline amenity kits in our travels, and the surprises of each zippered pouch can often make or break comfort on a premium flight. With this in mind, here's to our new series: Inside the Amenity Kit, wherein we unzip, unwrap, and expose the loot inside:

Brazil Brazil Brazil. With little more than a month until the World Cup dominates headlines and dictates travel plans for millions, we thought it time to show what flyers on TAM, the country's largest airline, will enjoy.

Although this kit is a standard Business amenity pouch, it is specifically from TAM flight 8079, one of only two nonstop flights between New York-JFK and Rio de Janeiro-GIG (the other is on TAM's Oneworld partner, American Airlines). That's a round 10 hours in the air, and the TAM 767-300 that operates the route is actually equipped with the interior typically found on their sister airline, LAN. This is because LAN and TAM recently joined up to form LATAM, and this 767 destined for LAN was instead handed over to TAM. The result is an airplane with no First Class, but improved Business and Economy seats.

Should you be enjoying a ride up front in Business, TAM hands out a unisex amenity kit that's nicely comprehensive. Inside the zip pouch, you'll find:

· Rituals lip balm
· Rituals moisturizer
· Rituals shaving cream
· folding comb/hairbrush
· shoehorn
· toothbrush & toothpaste
· eyemask
· socks
· ear plugs
· Schick shaving razor
· ballpoint pen

We flew to Rio as a guest of TAM, but all photos and opinions are completely our own.
