We come across some downright awesome airline amenity kits in our travels, and the surprises of each zippered pouch can often make or break comfort on a premium flight. With this in mind, here's to our new series: Inside the Amenity Kit, wherein we unzip, unwrap, and expose the loot inside:

Traveling from North America or Europe to Hong Kong means a long flight no matter which way you play it, but it's HK's hometown airline Cathay Pacific that leads in premium plush to make the hours pass a little faster.

Up in business class, Cathay keeps passenger happy with lie-flat seats (all with aisle access), many-course meals complete with signature drinks, and luxe little amenity kits.

Just after take-off on a recent flight, we were presented with a black and gold bag filled with travel-sized potions and a few other accessories. The airline has called upon French fashion designer Agnès B to outfit the business class kits, and each pouch is gender-specific.

Once unzipped, we found the standard socks, ear plugs, toothpaste, and Agnès B-branded eye-shade, toothbrush and shoehorn. The airline has also partnered with SoCal skincare line Murad for body lotion and shave cream.

In a nod to Mother Earth, the bag is not only reusable, but the shoehorn and toothbrush are biodegradable.
