The First Boeing 787-9 is Almost All Set for a Debut

It’s almost time for Air New Zealand to take to the skies with their very first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, but the closest we can get right now is admiring the new livery from afar.

You may recall that Air New Zealand announced that they’d be mixing up their paintjob with a couple different versions, and here's a preview of one, which retains the koru and New Zealand fern looks and logos.

There have been black versions of the Air New Zealand livery in the past, but these technically have been all about celebrating the country’s national rugby team, the All Blacks. This new look is one of two new liveries—a white one and a black one—being rolled out across the carrier’s fleet.

For those wanting to check things out in person, there’s going to be a little bit of a wait. Eventually the first flights will head between Auckland and Perth later this year. For now, just enjoy the view and start saving up for the airfare.
