Everything Old is New Again as Eastern Air Lines Continues Path to Relaunch

March 31, 2014 at 8:50 AM | by | ()

The airplanes aren't yet up in the air, but a relaunch of the classic Eastern Air Lines is moving full speed ahead.

According to Bloomberg, Eastern Air Lines Group is busy looking around for the best deal on up to ten used airplanes. Both Boeing and Airbus aircraft have a chance, as the company focuses on narrow-body planes for the venture.

It sounds like some airplane lease decisions could be made within the next 30 to 45 days, so be sure to stay tuned. We don’t know about you, but we’re a little excited about the prospect of a vintage airline soaring back into modern day skies. We can only imagine that the new Eastern will do its thing in and out of the Miami area to start, as that’s where they’ve set up shop.

Let’s just hope they have a little funding left over to ensure there’s modern day amenities; we're praying for in-flight WiFi, of course.
