Buy Your Way into a First Class Amenity Kit on United

First Class amenity kits are big collector's items, no doubt. Do a little search on eBay and you'll see what we mean (some kits, like the Rimowa cases, commend $75 each!), but lately a flood of United kits has hit the market.

Available for customers in United BusinessFirst on long-haul international flights departing from the United States, collectable tins highlight each of United's eight North America hubs. The contents include a toothbrush/toothpaste, eye mask, earplugs, comb, pen, purell wipe, tissues, and some Philosophy skincare products of minuscule size.

Since these are only being handed out through this month, United obviously has some backstock to unload as they've begun legitimately selling them on the United online store.

The tins are $19.99 each (plus shipping). We calculated buying one kit, plus shipping to NYC (UPS Ground for $14.20, which is exorbitant), to receive a total of $34.19. While it's still far less expensive than buying a premium airline ticket for the extra goodies, we still don't think $35 is worth it for this, unless you're truly a United fan.

The kits have already been for sale secondhand, such as on eBay, where the going rate seems to be $25.
