Fronteering is giving voluntourists a chance to get off the beaten path in Brazil this year.
Travelers from around the world are joining its Amazon Guide Brazil trip to help educate the public about sustaining the Amazon Jungle and to teach local guides at an eco-tourism organization how to speak English.
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to hone their survival skills, learn Portuguese, sleep overnight in jungle hammocks, and visit a monkey rescue and rehabilitation center.
The Brazil trip takes place year round and lasts 2-4 weeks. Prices start at $995, including accommodations with a host family and internet access.
