It might not feel like it but tomorrow does mark the first day of spring which has farmers across the country getting ready to welcome farm-stayers.

Farm Stays give travelers the chance to help farmers with their daily chores while learning more about the culture of growing food in a rural setting.

Here are three farms and ranches offering unique farm stays this spring:

The Farm, LLC in Danville, Kentucky welcomes guests throughout the year to stay in one of their 7 in-house rooms or private cottage for a true farm experience, including milking goats, collecting eggs, and learning new skills like canning and making butter. Rates range from $50 - $250 per night. For more information visit, thefarmllc.com.

Harmony Fields in the Skagit Valley of Washington gives guests a first hand look at what it takes to maintain an organic farm. They have a seasonal cottage to rent while learning to feed sheep, ducks, donkeys, participating in workshops, and exploring their gardens for $99 a night.

Willow Creek Ranch in Mountain Ranch, CA promises an "old fashioned" real farm experience for the whole family. Daily chores and activities include mending fences, working in the garden, gathering eggs, feeding cows, bottle feed calves, and making cheese. A "cozy" cabin on the farm is available to rent for $100 per night. Visit willowcreeknatural.com for more information.
