Where and When to Join the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl Victory Parade
February 3, 2014 at 7:32 AM
Depending on whom you were pulling for last night, it was either one of the best Super Bowl games of all time—or one of the absolute worst. Either way it’s now time to celebrate, and the city of Seattle is ready to welcome home their Seahawks. It’s the very first championship for the organization, and only the second time a professional sports team will bring home a trophy to the city. Start working on your get out of work strategy, as this Wednesday is going to be the victory parade.
For those hoping to welcome the team home—you’re out of luck—as it sounds like there will not be an organized welcome home out at SeaTac Airport. However, the official celebration is scheduled for February 5, as things are going to kickoff at 11am local time.
The plan has the parade beginning on Fourth Avenue—south of like Denny Way—then running along Fourth Avenue for a couple of miles. The parade route will lead the team to their home at CenturyLink Field where the party and parade will end around 1:30pm.
Other details are somewhat limited at this point, but we’d expect some confetti, some floats, and plenty of cheering and celebrating. One thing we do know is that everyone is begin encouraged to drive into the city together and hop aboard public transportation. It sounds like parking will be pretty limited.
Congratulations to the Seahawks, the 12th Man, and the city of Seattle—enjoy your parade!
