New York City Beer Week Kicks Off This Friday
With the 2014 New York City Beer Week set to kick off this Friday, the cure for the cold weather is just around the corner in the form of craft beer.
You can still get tickets to the opening ceremony in Grand Central Terminal ($75) as well as a number of beer-paired dinners next week, but as we learned at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver last fall, the best part of these festivals typically takes place outside of the main events in the form of tap takeovers and happy hours. Not only are they cheaper, but they tend to be more social in that it feels like a bar scene instead of a convention.
You can see a full listing of the events here (look on the right sidebar), and you can stay up to date by following the city's beer week on Twitter: @nycbeerweek. Look for tweets and retweets from restaurants, bars, and breweries announcing the release of new beers or impromptu events.
