Louisiana Throws Tourism Funds at Making Mardi Gras Major
Floats, beads, king cakes, and plenty of adult beverages are all part of the Mardi Gras experience in New Orleans. However, one thing that has not been part of the fun and festivities is a tourism campaign. That’s all changing this year, as the state of Louisiana is throwing out some cash in hopes of getting a few more visitors to check thing out.
For those who are interested we’re a little more than two weeks away, as the festivities reach their finale on Tuesday, March 4. So even if you don’t have plans to attend—there’s still time to change things.
Keep an eye out for print materials as well as snazzy little online advertisements encouraging a trip to the state. They’re using Mardi Gras as just a launching point, as the whole theme behind the campaign is that there’s more to do in the state than to just check it one city or one event.
The ‘Only in Louisiana’ stuff should be running through March 2, so be on the lookout for it if you need a little extra push to get your self there during 2014. Check them out for yourself right over here, and we’ll encourage you to do what the tourism folks suggest—go reign on their parades.
