The 2013 race will go down Sunday, September 29 at 8am and registration is now open. Online registration closes September 23, after which point you'll have to hope there's still at-event registration available, assuming the race hasn't sold out by then.
Even better news than running on a runway is that it only costs from $20 to $50 to register, depending how early you register and which race you're game to give a go. Find all the pricing and further details on the event website, but if you're an adult registering online soon, expect to pay $30 for the 5K Run/Walk, $35 if you want to be chip-timed, or $40 for the 10K chip-timed. Proceeds go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project
Bring the family and register children for the "Take Off Trot" dash races, which are only $20 per child, ages 4-10.
PRIZES: The fastest overall male and female runners for both the 5K and 10K will each receive two domestic economy class round-trip tickets on United. Everyone really wins, however, as the races conclude with not only the United airplane photo op, but a "community day" at the airport with bouncy castles, food from "Chicago institutions," and more.
