Air Pacific is Done and Gone; Long Live Fiji Airways!
The day Fiji has patiently awaited is now arrived. Today marks the official first day Air Pacific becomes Fiji Airways. This is more than just a new name and paint job; it's a return to the original identity for the national carrier for all 333 islands of Fiji
We will admit to having a tiny soft spot in our heart for the brightly colored, rainbow tail of Air Pacific, but we can't get enough of the 'Masi' indigenous design of the new Airbus A330s and existing 737s. With a fresh new outside, the planes are going to woo passengers with completely over-hauled economy cabins and business-class seats that feature angled flat-bed seats to ensure your comfy on that long flight to paradise.
Along with all of the bells and whistles, flight attendants will be sporting a whole new look that mirror the natural tones of brown and cream in the cabin while still maintaining a tropical island feel. Cabin crew will create that island feel before you even land with pops of turquoise on a field of traditional Fijian design.
Some of the best news comes in increased flights from LA to Nadi, so it will become way easier to experience everything the 'Happiest Place on Earth' has to offer. At the moment, the long-haul to the South Pacific will use the older 747s eventually phasing them out in favor of the newest metal by the end of the year. Either way, those planes will be taking of from LAX daily with an additional flight during busy periods; Christmas in Fiji, anyone?
If you just need to say 'Bula' to Fiji, their new website is live and flights from LA are on sale at $1,066 return.
