Three Theme Parks Doing the Spring Thing Right

We’ve seen hints of the warmer weather here and there, but it must already be heating up at a couple of the country’s theme parks. Spring has arrived, as tulips and daffodils begin to dot the landscape that’s usually filled with rollercoasters and corn dogs. Not everyone gets in on the spring fun, but here’s a few amusement parks doing the spring thing:

Knott's Berry Bloom

They don’t exactly close for the winter, after all the southern California weather can’t be beat. However, Knott’s Berry Farm does welcome the change of seasons as only a theme park can. Beginning on March 23 they’re upping the ante on the existing offerings, as they’re promising a boost in live entertainment, plenty of games, and even a bunch of food and wine events.

They’ll be taking down the seasonal decorations from the attic as well, as the place gets “spring-i-fied”—their words not ours. Knott’s Towering Topiary Tasting Garden mixes oversized garden sculptures with some adult sips and samples, and the kids get in on the fun as they look for Snoopy and his friends during the park’s Search for the Easter Beagle. Most of the seasonal stuff is included in your admission—around $60 per person.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

Flowers, topiaries, and seasonal blooms have been scattered all around Epcot, and the fun runs now through May 19. Mike and Sully of Monsters Inc. are just some of the new topiaries on display, but Mickey and his friends are also definitely available.

Some of these displays even take on a unique look at night, as what they're calling Illuminated Gardens is Disney-speak for stringing up plenty of lights—we’re sure it’s nice. The Garden Marketplaces are also new, as vendors are set up in and around the different country themed areas to offer up bits and sips of gourmet samples. Musical artists from years gone by—think Chubby Checker and The Village People—are even on hand for The Flower Power Concert Series. It’s all part of your regular admission, which is now a pricey $89 per person.

Hersheypark – Springtime In The Park

After a long few months of cold weather it’s time for the rollercoasters and other attractions to get ready for the summer season. Hersheypark kicks things off a little bit early, as they open select attractions and rides for a few spring weekends. The fun starts between March 29 and 31, and after that it’s April 6 and 7 as well as April 13 and 14.

Tickets here are a little cheaper with adult admission running you $30 per person. Only certain things are open, but coasters like Storm Runner, SooperDooperLooper, and Great Bear are all scheduled to do their thing—weather permitting of course. Just be sure to save room for all that chocolate.
