Though we still stand by our first impressions of the app, we're slowly coming around to see how it can be used to generate . Just posting Vines willy-nilly from our personal travels has already given us new Twitter followers and the first bits of community interaction that comes from a successful app. We're mostly enjoying how the lack of editing capability forces the creator to be extra crafty, with a clear vision for each Vine.
To be fair, this isn't the first Vine contest from an airline. Virgin America holds the title of first airline to embrace Vine, as their now-concluded #VXLongDistanceLove contest asked travelers to submit a Vine and win a romantic trip to Vegas. Besides American and Virgin America, other active airlines on Vine include Cathay Pacific (username: Cathay Pacific US) and Delta, with many more airlines having reserved their names on the app.
