Breckenridge to Open 543-Acre 'Peak 6' on Christmas Day
It might have taken over ten years, but the long wait for another expansion at Breckenridge Ski Resort is finally over. For the first time since "Peak 7" opened in 2002, the resort will debut a new section of terrain this week known as "Peak 6."
Set to open at noon on Christmas Day, Peak 6 will have two new lifts and give riders access to intermediate and expert terrain above treeline. In total, the expansion will add 543 skiable acres, 400 of lift-served terrain and 143 of hike-to terrain.
We'll be making a visit to Breck after the New Year to check out Peak 6 in person, so stayed tuned for experiential details and photos. In the meantime, you can check out some behind-the-scenes videos from its construction and see more details of the project here.
