Hot Weather Travel: Delta Announces Seasonal Summer Routes for 2014

Not everyone can handle the stress of last-minute travel, which is why airline are only too happy to get you booking their flights as soon as seats go on sale.

In anticipation of a busy 2014 summer season at their newly expanded New York-JFK Terminal 4 home, Delta has announced details of nonstop seasonal routes:

Italy

· JFK-Rome, Italy will recommence, effective March 30. These flights will be operated in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Alitalia The services to New York-JFK will be operated with a 292 seat A330-300.
· JFK-Venice, Italy will recommence March 30. These flights will operate daily throughout the summer months using a Boeing 767 aircraft in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Alitalia.
· JFK-Pisa, Italy will recommence, effective June 07. The flight will operate four times weekly throughout the peak summer season using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Alitalia.

Mediterranean

· JFK-Nice, France will recommence, effective April 06. The flight will initially operate five times weekly increasing to daily effective May 1 and continuing throughout the summer season using a Boeing 767-400 aircraft with 245 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.
· JFK-Athens, Greece will recommence, effective May 18. The flight will operate daily throughout the summer season using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 292 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM and Alitalia.
· JFK-Istanbul, Turkey will recommence, effective June 02. The flight will operate daily throughout the summer season using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 225 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM and Alitalia.
· JFK-Malaga, Spain June 06. The flight will initially operate four times weekly in June increasing to five times weekly in July using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.

Scandinavia

· JFK-Stockholm, Sweden will recommence, effective June 02. The flight will initially operate five times weekly in June and then four times weekly during the remainder of the summer season using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.
· JFK-Copenhagen, Denmark will recommence, effective June 02. The flight will initially operate daily during the summer season using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.

Other destinations

· JFK-Shannon, Ireland will recommence, effective May 17. The flight will operate seven times weekly throughout the summer season using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France and KLM.
· JFK-Prague, Czech Republic will recommence, effective May 23. The flight will operate daily throughout the summer season using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 225 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.
· JFK-Reykjavik, Iceland will recommence, effective June 05. The flight will initially operate five times weekly, but will be daily from June 12 throughout the summer season using a 757-200 aircraft with 167 seats in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner Air France KLM.

We're especially psyched to see the return of routes to Malaga, Pisa, and Reykjavik, but all are pretty excellent for the traveler who hates layovers and loves Delta. Seats are already on sale, and don't forget that Delta SkyMiles Diamond Medallions, flyers in BusinessElite seats, or those who've purchased a $50 SkyClub day pass will get to enjoy the comfort of the newest and largest SkyClub and SkyDeck before boarding.
