Where to Toast to the Season with a Holiday Beer Festival

November 7, 2013 at 12:22 PM | by | ()

The commercials for sales have started, Starbucks has their seasonal selections, and of course the local Target is already stocking Christmas trees, lights, and decorations—it may be November but it’s time to celebrate the season. Even beer festivals are getting in the mood well in advance, so here’s a couple holiday and winter brew fests where you can toast to the season a little bit early.

BevMo! Holiday Beer Fest - San Francisco

Free that ugly holiday sweater from the plastic bin under your bed, as it’s time to celebrate the season at the BevMo! Holiday Beer Fest in San Francisco. This year’s events take place on November 21—the Thursday before Thanksgiving—between 6pm and 10pm at the Fort Mason Center. Organizers are promising over 200 different seasonal and specialty beers, brews, sips, and ciders from over 100 different breweries. Tickets will set you back $45 in advance, and don’t forget your ID—it’s 21 and older only.

Winter Beer Fest – Philadelphia

This year’s events take place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as organizers roll the kegs into the 23rd Street Armory on November 23. Spiced ales, limited edition brews, and other special once-a-year options will all be available. There will even be some new breweries joining the fun such as options from Carton Brewing Company, Perennial Artisanal Ales, and Three Heads Brewing. Tickets will set you back $40 in advance, and that will get you all the tastings and samples that you can handle. There are two sessions from which to chose, so just decide if you want to indulge between 1pm and 5pm or 6pm and 10pm. Keep an eye out for sips of Father Christmas Highland Ale and Jubilisoius Xmas Ale—cheers!
