"Leaf peeping" may be a cringe-worthy term, but it's a pleasing activity many of you are probably up to on the weekends right about now.

The leaves of the east coast are beginning to turn and, with them, road trip routes are planned and provisions packed. While you're out and about looking in rearview mirrors at the foliage, do not forget to stop at farmstands and bakeries along the way, since autumn in the US is perhaps the best time to indulge in seasonal baked goods.

· Cider donuts

· Maple Seltzer (specifically in Vermont)

· Pecan pie

· Apple butter on toast (specifically in Ohio)
